Need to book a room within narrow radius of Blake Hall, Ongar for a wedding, and they've supplied a list of potential local places to stay, at the head of which is the Black Bull in Fyfield. Not a chance. Stayed there about a year ago, and if I had to rank this place in the several hundred hotels around the world if stayed in over decades, it would come plum bottom. Cold, damp room with (I'm guessing) a twenty-year-old carpet covered in God only knows what stains, a make-do "wardrobe," and a bathroom so disgusting I couldn't even bring myself to shower in the morning - I just drove home as fast as I could.
