The room was very clean and it was very convenient to go anywhere! There is a park opposite the hotel and the environment is very good! But there are two Premier Inns in Essen, this one is slightly outside, and the other is a city hotel (near the station). I almost stayed in the wrong place!

Service was perfect. Nothing to complain about. Located in the center. Close to the Christmas market and all shopping centers. Parking garage under the hotel. The breakfast was good.

Hotel and location were great! Only at breakfast were they completely overwhelmed! Although it was clear that it was fully booked!

It's good news, bad news. The Bed is very comfortable, and we slept well. The breakfast was good as well. Crisp croissants, great coffee and half a dozen loose teas is enough for us. The housekeeping is appalling. We were there a week, and the room was processed correctly on one of those days. The rest of the time there were items missing, or used glasses or cups not replaced. You can't phone reception because there is no house phone. There are no tissues in the bathroom so bring a pack. No pen or paper either. Let's hope the housekeeping issue is resolved before you visit. It's not a deal-breaker as the bed and the breakfast are both done well, and the location is superb.

I stayed here and on our second night, a member of staff came into our room, unannounced, at 0245. No explanation was forthcoming either then or later and Premier Inn Customer Service are simply ignoring it. I can only believe that the member of staff had done malicious intent either to us or our belongings. Stay safe. Stay somewhere else.

Very good hotel and VERY clean room for that price!!! Good breakfast! Polite and friendly staff!!! Strongly recommend!!! In the shower everything so clean that looks like it is new. Even the electric kettle was without scale.

When your preference is to save some euros rather than pay more for a questionable ageing hotel you’ve never been to before- this is a good option for a hotel near to the centre of Essen. Nicely fresh and basic option at Berlinerplatz. Pleasantly surprised by the offer for the price. Hotel room and lobby were squeaky clean. Full marks there. Bed was super comfortable for me. Room layout is fine and compact. It works. Well decorated. Don’t bother staying near the Hauptbahnhof of Essen. It’s typical of most Hauptbahnhof areas throughout Europe. Not the most desirable area. Lots of loiterers. This hotel is 2 stops on the UBahn from HBF. 145 bus outside the door. Huge modern mall 5mins away for retail fix. 10min walk into the historic Center of the town through the mall.

Immer wieder praktisch und gut. Standard-Zimmer, klein aber modern und sauber. Freundliches Team. Zwischendurch etwas überfordert aber passt. Gut sortierte Bar. Lage zentral aber ruhig, Einkaufszentrum, Ikea, Restaurants fussläufig erreichbar. Parkplätze in Garage oder der direkten Umgebung.

Tolles Hotel in sehr zentraler Lage. Wirklich alles Top, vor allem das freundliche und sehr zuvorkommende Personal und das Frühstücksbüffet. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist nicht zu toppen. Komme wieder. ;)

Zum zweiten Mal hier gewesen, jedes Mal musste ich das Zimmer wechseln. Eiskalt im Winter, dauert, wenn man Glück hat und die Heizung geht, etwa 45 Minuten. In einem Zimmer hat anscheinend jemand etwas schlimmes gegessen, fürchterlicher Geruch. Netter Empfang, aber das Hotel kann man überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Nie wieder.

Das Gute zuerst. Die Lage. Die Zimmer. Die Kette rühmt sich ihres Frühstücks. Schön, wenn es auch noch verfügbar wäre. Bei drei Tagen gab es an einem Tag keine Würstchen, an zwei Tagen keinen Orangensaft, das Brot musste immer wieder eingefordert werden, dann wurden ein paar Brötchen aufgebacken … Heillos überfordert ist das Personal auch am Abend. Abgesehen davon, dass es "momentan" überhaupt kein Schankbier gäbe, bestellt man am besten an der Theke, denn Bedienung an den Tischen ist nicht drin, und dass das Personal nicht aufschreibt, was über den Tresen geht, kann dem Gast ja egal sein. Geht's an Bezahlen, braucht es Geduld. Das Kassensystem scheint extrem kompliziert zu sein. Premier Inn bietet ein Freigetränk an, wenn man (einen Tag) auf die Zimmerreinigung verzichtet. Verkauft wird das, dass man das eingesparte Geld für eine warme Mahlzeit für benachteiligte Kinder spendet. Gut so. Eigentlich ist es auch egal, ob man das Zimmer reinigen lässt oder nicht. In meinem Fall wurde am nächsten Tag die Toilette definitiv nicht gereinigt und das gebrauchte Geschirr vom Gratiskaffee (Wasserkocher, Kaffeepulver etc.) wurde links liegen gelassen. Offenbar hat das Haus/die Kette immense Personalprobleme. Von den Folgen hat Premier Inn noch am Tag vor der Anreise in einer E-Mail gewarnt und um Verständnis gebeten …
