Essence Hotel

Let's start from the basics. What you see in the photos do not represent reality. Well done to the photographer who managed to hide how dilapidated the accommodation is. Specifically: The rooms too small, one on top of the other. The rooms are filthy, dust everywhere. The glass in the bathroom door has probably never been cleaned (see attached photo). Closets, dirty. Basin; Her bottom had changed color, bleach is never used, not a single day did we smell anything in bleach or anything at all that reminded us of cleanliness. The building is in a bad condition externally (damaged - paintwork) but also internally as the furniture was battered and had lost its color as well as the walls have been painted in the corridors. The aesthetics of the hotel are also miserable, curtains everywhere for no reason with strange lights that you don't see in the corridors at night. The room has too many lights, which do not turn off individually, they have a central switch. So either you will be squinted by the light or you won't be able to see in front of you. In the shower we found half-finished shampoos from the previous ones that the cleaners had not collected. 3 days in a row, they didn't put me a panosedon and I had to call them at 12 at night to bring it to me. The cleaners don't use a vacuum cleaner. Broom and farasi and holy God. On the last day I went back up to the room after breakfast and was sweating, we had to leave it wide open for 10 minutes to let it dry out in the cold. Ok I get that people sweat when they clean and do chores but not like this guys, we couldn't stop. Balcony; Ok, chairs on the balcony? ok Small table? Never, so you can't sit on a balcony if you want (if you want to sit on a balcony in the stink, cobwebs and dust that has literally never been cleaned). Let's go to breakfast: Breakfast in the basement ( -1 ) at tables for 8 people which were full of crumbs and you will necessarily have to eat breakfast with other strangers at the same table. The food stale and plastic, the only nice thing was the water. Napkins missing, only if you asked. On Monday, we went down half an hour after breakfast had ended because no one had informed us that on weekdays it ends earlier. So we left hungry. Kudos to the photographer as he has amazingly managed to camouflage this shack you call a 4 star hotel. And if they paid us, we wouldn't go again. 200 euros a night for a family of 3, I'd rather burn it than give it to them. It is worth noting that the most important problem of all of these is cleanliness. It is not clean, the cleaners do not clean, they enter your room for 5 minutes, throw 2 sheets and leave. I suggest the management to review the staff they have chosen for the cleanliness of the accommodation. 1 star because I can't put 0. Far from specific

Where do I start? Good evening we didn't have the central light of the room only 2 small yellow lights just enough to say we see. When we asked if something could be done about the light, he told us that it just happened and he can't do anything about it on the day we went and obviously didn't suggest we change rooms. In the bathroom there was only a small sample of shampoo and a small bubble bath for 2 people. There was no electrical outlet anywhere in the bathroom so my wife had to do her hair outside without a light or a mirror. In general, the room was dusty and the worst was the bed, which you will see from the photo below (it needs no description). Regarding the breakfast, everything was cold and with little variety, they didn't provide paper towels & water unless you asked for it. The breakfast area was extremely cold (we had to bring jackets) let alone that no one cleared the dishes and all this for 27 people who were there for breakfast. Tsamba €75 + €3 tax. Disappointment...

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE. The towels and sheets were not changed and there was a day when we did not even find towels in the room. The whole hotel was FULL of flies and the buffet food exposed to them. It was December and there were no duvets in the room and when we asked for one the answer we got was "we'll see if you're cold and I'll bring you another pique blanket". In the room there were damages from previous customers for which we were accused and then they made us pay for them (these repair prices are fictitious to say the least...) I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!!

I have been visiting this four-star hotel in Ioannina for many years. On my last visit 25-27/11 I faced loads of problems. Initially I was asked upon my arrival to pay for my entire stay even though there was a guarantee through my credit card and a record of my police ID details! "Policy of our hotel" they told me! Reception staff unable to answer questions or provide information, obviously due to inexperience in similar tasks. For example when I asked to lower the excessive temperature in my room (27C) I was told to open the window as it was not possible to adjust the room temperature autonomously giving some strange excuses for geothermal energy and not regular air conditioning. All night hard to sleep as there was no control over the noise created by school trip teenagers staying at the hotel. The next day, since I would be starting my schedule early, they offered to prepare a mini breakfast basket containing: 1/4 toast, 1 apple and 1 boiled egg! It goes without saying that there were no individual tableware or napkins. The same night I came back tired but the cleaning service deigned to have entered the room. The official excuse of the reception was that they had a large group and they couldn't make it! Burnt lamps, central air conditioner broken on the first day and a problem with the electronic lock of the room door completed the picture of indifference and lack of professionalism. It is easy to create a good name, but difficult to maintain it!

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel from 18/11-20. Very beautiful room and kind receptionists. That's all there is to it. They asked us to prepay upon our arrival and only cash, they entered the room to clean and the cleaners messed things up which is forbidden, while the best thing is that on the last day while breakfast was served until 10.30, we went at 10.00 and there was no crockery, empty buffet and we left hungry! Overrated hotel with cards being discharged in 5 hours. Not to mention the response from the staff when all this was mentioned.

the hotel was unacceptable based on the reputation it has..I can't understand why this property has 4 stars..Breakfast and dinner were the same every day and looked like yesterday.I'm not talking about the rooms small without slippers and bathrobes ..Dirty without changing the sheets for 4 days...I asked to have the sheets changed and they gave me a pillowcase to put on myself..From there we understand how miserable the staff was..The other people I came with had been put room for A.M.E.A. I will never come again..The worst..
