We were a group of friends and stayed for 1 night. We absolutely enjoyed it. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy, aircon worked very well, breakfast was fantastic and restaurant staff were very friendly and fast, SPA facilities and staff were lovely. Check in and check out was super fast and we even got our rooms earlier than expected. Thank you so much, we will definitely come back!

We came for afternoon tea and it was lovely, beautiful Tudor hall, nice Christmas decorations and very friendly organised staff. Highly recommend

Start with the positives which were plentiful. - the hotel is stunning and very historic. The grounds for a walk were outstanding. - the hall is out of this world. For an after dinner drink it takes some beating. - very friendly and professional staff - room was well maintained - the bar menu was extensive and all reasonably priced Negatives The spa which looked beautiful online and was described as a ‘serenity spa’ allowed children in from 3pm. What was supposed to be a luxury stay turned into a local leisure centre vibe with screaming kids jumping and splashing around. It wasn’t peaceful and totally ruined the atmosphere. We along with several other patrons left the pool area. Totally unnecessary. Most spas are 16+ for this exact reason. When you’re paying £230 for a standard room for a midweek stay in a ‘serenity spa’ it needs to be as advertised not disrupted by screaming kids. With their kid policy it is doubtful we’d return. A real shame as in all other regards it was perfect.

Came for afternoon tea - from the moment we booked to the moment we left it was a faultless experience. Special mention to the two servers in the Tudor Room who looked after us in exemplary style. The cocktails and food items were excellent, the setting special. A great experience.

We stayed at this hotel following a road trip in the UK. We’d booked a Superior Feature room which was lovely. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The carpet had seen better days but overall we were happy with our choice. Staff were very helpful and professional. The fun started during the night when the fire alarm went off and we then had a number of false alarms over the next 30 minutes. At 6:50 in the morning we were woken by other residents who were staying in the room above us continually moving around on very squeaky floorboards. Breakfast was lovely ( when we got it), unfortunately we were forgotten and had to ask staff to take our order realising that others were receiving their food and we were just left sitting in the restaurant. We had chosen to stay at the hotel to break up our journey prior to travelling home. It was far from a restful nights sleep and we left exhausted. I would have expected given the disruption during the night for a manager to be present during check out and I would have expected we were offered some compensation or reduction in price to stay at the hotel again. We paid over £300 for 1 nights stay and whilst I understand that fire alarms do go off the night was ruined

My wife booked a suite at the hotel for two nights over our wedding. The service at the hotel was very poor from start to finish. Essentially none of the staff cared to help unless you waited for half an hour in the reception. The worst part was that on the day of the wedding. We returned to the room late after the party and the room had been left completely uncleaned or made up. For a five star hotel at these prices this felt incredibly poor. Not least as we had asked for the room to be cleaned ahead of our first night as a married couple.

A very successful weekend for an annual gathering of 22 friends. High praise to the events team (Jodie in particular), the hotel, location, spa, service, and quality food. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We hope to return. Highly recommend
