Definitely don’t stay here. Everything was fine after checking in until my girlfriend moved the curtains to close the shades. A swarm of ladybugs (20+) came out. The hotel couldn’t switch our room because they were full but sent housekeeping to vacuum up the bugs. The lady was great but after she left, more ladybugs continued to come out. The final straw was when we also found a stink bug in the room and had to trap it. At this point, the lady bugs had moved from the window to the bed area. We had used the room for a total of four hours before deciding we couldn’t take it anymore. The manager told us that we should expect bugs in the room because the hotel was near the woods. They refused to give us a full refund and still charged us for half a day.

Staybridge Suits is a very nice and well designed hotel. There's a lot of positive things I can say about this hotel. But, there are also some negative aspects. I'll speak about the positive ones first. Then, I will get to the not so ideal elements. As anybody who's ever stayed at one of the IHG Hotel Suites locations understands, this hotel is made up around the fact that it's a place to live, more than just stay. Meaning, each room, or suites as they call them, comes complete with a large refrigerator, a small stove, a microwave, and all of the cooking utensils: glasses, dishes, silverware, and all of that kind of stuff you would need to create a great meal. Personally, I did not stay at this hotel for that reason. Nor have I ever stayed at a hotel with plans to make my own meals. But, particularly for families, and people who are undercover chefs, this place could be a great place to stay and create an excellent hotel room dining experience. Other than just the culinary focus of the rooms, in this hotel the rooms are very large, very well designed, and they have all the expected necessities that you may want. They have large drawers, so you can put all your stuff in them, a very nice closet, and, of course, a large expanse of bathroom. All of these elements, at this hotel, was All Good. No complaints. The problem I have with this hotel, and it is a big one, is that when I checked into my room, there was a massive amount of flies flying around. Plus, there was a number of ladybugs. It was kind of like a horror movie. I checked... I tried to open the windows, but there's absolutely no way to let those flies out. So, I have no idea how they got in there. My guess, and it is only a guess, is that someone must've opened the lower windows, that have an opening crank on them, to let some natural air in the room, and taken off the screens to clean them or something. Because that's the only way I could see that amount of flies and ladybugs could've gotten in. Now ladybugs, I have no problem with. Flies, on the other hand, nobody wants those things flying around in your room, particularly at night. I had to personally kill at least eight of them, just to stop them from swarming the room. This is completely unacceptable! I believe anybody would have the same reaction to this. Again, I don't know how they got in there, but I do know they were in there. And, I do know I was the one who had to kill them. Unacceptable, unacceptable, unacceptable!!! If it wasn't for that that, I would've given this hotel a much higher rating. The management of this hotel really needs to look into what their staff is doing, and manage them much more precisely. Because I'm sure any guest would've had the same reaction as I did. I will say that on the second night, the housekeeping staff did clean up the dead flies from the windowsill, and the remaining ladybugs. Breakfast was spectacular. Elevator takes forever and is small; so plan on waiting or use stairs. Pet friendly. Pool was packed and the other guests were extremely rude, throwing items at my daughter causing severe welts and bruises. While this is not the hotels fault; there should be a max capacity for pool guests as it was so busy it was unenjoyable. Luggage carts are in the shape of a triangle and not sturdy, your luggage will fall right off.

Nice facility and accommodations. Great breakfast with good coffee. Staff were actually very helpful and friendly.

Called the night before to get an early check in. Arrived a half hour after my promised check-in time, room was not ready. Waited 15-20 minutes in the lobby for the staff to clean the room. I got my key and they told me my room was ready. Went up to the room to find the staff still in the room, mid-clean. The cleaning staff was scraping stickers off the desk in the room and putting dirty dishes from the previous guest in the dishwasher. The staff continued to wrap up the cleaning for about 5 minutes while I stood in the room waiting. Once alone in my room, I found multiple unclean areas including: headboard - greasy head marks, a hand print, and a white liquid residue on multiple portions of the headboard desk - sticker residue floor - unswept. crumbs and dust in all the corners of the kitchenette wall - orange spot above the couch, grey scuffs below the window mirror - dirty window - greasy forehead marks side table - strange liquid on base, orange stain on carpet next to the table bed - horrible creaking sound when exiting the bed. Pillowcase had gross stain on corner, sheets had fresh blood stains. Pillows are poor quality and not comfortable. bathroom - yellow sticky notes with smiley faces in the shower and behind the door, tissues were empty TV - TV guide channel didn't work. You have to surf to each channel to find out what is on AC unit - horribly noisy we called the front desk regarding the sheets and sticky notes. a staff member was sent up to change out the sheets and clean the shower. he left without cleaning the shower and left his cleaning solution and rags in the room. One of the days I left the room to go shopping. When I returned, two jewelry boxes were moved from the spot that I left them in. Thank goodness I emptied them and brought the contents with me when I left.

Comfortable beds and room with good amenities. Lovely staff. Breakfast is decent. The hotel doe not have recycling. At all. Appalling in this day and age not to recycle! Air-conditioner/heater is very noisy and also not very environmentally well rated. The shuttle service is very specific so check with them if it covers where you're going. All in all the hotel feels a bit overpriced for what it is. The pool is very small, can't really do laps it's more for playing in. Gym is decent, as is the little movie theatre. They have DIY laundry which is handy. Parking is good. The hotel isn't really in a great location, more like one that feels like you're passing through. I didn't partake of their free Mon-Wed dinner so can't comment on that. Hopefully they implement a better environmental policy, including using ocean-friendly laundry products and soaps etc. I won't stay in one again unless I'm sure they have started recycling.
