The location is amazing! We had the whole house for ourselves so it was just amazing. Lovely place!

We stayed two nights in the wooden house, located in a beautiful valley, where we were able to see the most beautiful Northern Lights of the entire trip. The house was for 6 but we were lucky enough to enjoy it alone, otherwise it might have been a little small. Very kind owners. Very good price for Icelandic standards as well as the convenient location for visiting the surroundings.

The pictures are misleading. We never saw that small cottage and we never saw that large dining room. Perhaps because there really wasn't much service. Everything was left up to the guests, including washing your own dishes and putting them away with the same towel that everyone else used. The rooms were too small, we could barely fit our suitcases. The location was quiet, but far from the nearest town and inconvenient if you need anything (like food). It's in an isolated area that is very difficult to get to. This wouldn't be so bad if the night stay was about $100 Euro, but it was over $200 Euro!... It felt like a classic example of price gouging.

A good functional hostel for our journey around the Westfjords

This guest house is simply a scandal. It should not be offered on *********. It is located more than 20 km from Flatery. There were two of us but we had chosen a quadruple room to be comfortable... We came across a tiny room (around 10 m²) where we couldn't even put our suitcases on the floor because there was no room. ! In addition, the walls were so thin that we could clearly hear the conversations in the next room and then the snoring. If we knew that the showers were shared we didn't expect to find lackluster old swimming pool style showers. And let's not talk about the toilets... All for one night for more than €200!!! I do a lot of road trips all over the world and I can write that this is the Worst value for money ever experienced in accommodation in any country in the world. This hotel should be avoided and I blame ********** for advising it and request a refund for this night.

I think it’s important to reiterate that this is a hostel, not a hotel. It’s simpler, more rustic. Suited to casual, affordable, more intimate lodging. Not for those who feel awkward sharing space with strangers. However, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the scenery is about beautiful. There is onsite laundry, and the optional breakfast service is delightful. My biggest gripe is that the wifi did not reach my room (2) so, I had to stay in the dining room to use my computer.

Stayed there in late May, had the place almost to ourselves. Gorgeous terrain, nice for walking. Lucky to have wonderful weather during our stay, but note that this is the north of the Westfjords and there was still snow in the backyard at this time of year. Páll Stefánsson was an excellent host and deserves a special mention. Note that Korpudalur is a decent distance from Ísafjörður, so bringing and preparing your own food is a must. Only possible criticism is that if the place is full, the kitchen and dining area might be a bit cramped.
