Me and my husband did stay here for a relaxing weekend in March with our adult children. Booked 3 rooms for our family: "Kurz mal weg" arrangement. Including 2 nights, a glass of sekt as welcome, 2 x diner and breakfast. The check in was ok and the rooms were spacious, clean and with a nice view from the balcony. The bathroom was not very modern, but it was ok. The beds were very good and the room itself quiet. Especially the first day we dislike the smell downstairs at the receptiondesk and in the gaststube. The smell was very unpleasant: chemical, smoke and mixed with a strong frying air. We did mention it to the staff and opened the windows to get some fresh air. According to the staff, the smell was from the wild garlic in the forest. We doubted it, but kept the windows open. We ordered our "welcome" sekt (part of the arrangement) in the gaststube, but missed the personal touch and a warm welcome. It was kind of distant and cool, no interaction, no interest. The pool area and the sauna were comfortable and very clean. The garden in front of the pool area could be a lovely and relaxing spot, but there were no chairs to sit down nor sun loungers while the weather was sunny. Breakfast was good, enough choice: bread, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, sausages, bacon, ham, (scrambled) eggs and fruit. Diner was also good and tasty. Nothing special, but well served and warm! Overall good quality. The ambiance both in the restaurant as well as in the gaststube, is ok. During the weekend there were no many guests, and the terrace was empty. It did look a bit uninviting; what a pity when the temperature is good! Location of the hotel is good. Parking directly next to the hotel. By car it's just 10 minutes away from Prüm and within 10 minutes you can drive to Schönecken, a beautiful place for hiking. In Prüm there is are some restaurants and terraces for a drink!
