It’s a very convenient hotel at reasonable price. Hotel is clean and well organized. Like many Italian hotels, there is no screen on windows. But being on the 4th floor well 5th in US, it not bad even we opened the windows everyday for fresh air. Sound insulation for inside is not great. But hotel staff helped to close the “fire” door and made it great. Sound insulation from street is great as they have one double layer glass window plus a single layer glass window and a wood panel for light. It worked great!

Hotel Alinari is in a very convenient location just steps from Santa Maria Novella Station and only a short walk to the Central Market and numerous reasonably priced restaurants. It’s location might be off putting to some people as there is no huge lighted sign on the street telling you it’s there. You have to look for a much smaller sign in the street and elk into the ground level courtyard to see that it’s on the 4th floor. Take the elevator up to 4 but you might have to wait for it a bit. Patience pays off though as the proprietor and all of his staff are friendly and eager to help. Breakfast is substantial enough served by more friendly employees. Geographical location: The location is very close to the train station, about 3-5 minutes walk, there is a supermarket nearby, a large bucket of water is about 0.5 euros, and it is very close to the central market and the cathedral, about 5 minutes walk. Facilities: The overall facilities of the hotel are very old. The water did not go down at all when I took a shower on the first day, so I asked the boss to simply clean it up. There was no problem using it the next day, but the shower room was very small, and I could not turn around or lift my legs at all. I could only open the door to wash, but the water would flow outside. I didn’t like the bathroom as a whole. The wardrobe is very high, about 2 meters, which is very inconvenient to use. Inside the hotel: Only shampoo, toothbrush, shower gel, and conditioner need to be prepared by yourself. In addition, the hotel is on the 4th floor, and there are 4-5 hotels sharing an elevator at the same time, but if the elevator door is not closed properly, you can’t use the elevator, and the experience is not very good.
