We stayed here for one night and had an evening meal. Immediately on arrival we had to order breakfast, not just cooked vs. continental but in detail, never before have I been asked what cereal I want in advance. More importantly we were told that the pub closed at 10/10.30 and didn't open again until 7.30am, if we had been told that in advance we would never have booked. I'm 69 and not in the best of health but still don't welcome an enforced 10pm bedtime. My room was very hot on arrival so I turned the radiator off and opened a window. On returning at 10pm the heating had been turned off centrally so I was cold all night. The evening meal was good and in contrast to the owner's cold and aloof demeanor the waitress was warm and helpful. Breakfast was poor, continental consisted of cereal and toast or croissants (which were microwaved, so soggy), the coffee was tasteless. The shower was very good.

We only popped in for a burger and drink - and I don’t normally leave reviews but I have to say the burger was the best I’ve had for such a long time - pleasant sat in garden and not busy but such friendly staff and again the burger was absolutely amazing - if you want a pub meal and a really tranquil 2 hours go here

A real GEM of a Pub/Restaurant. We decided to have a meal out last night and were not disappointed. We had starters, main course and pud along with a couple of drinks each. Less than £64 which is excellent value for money. Alice and her team offer a warm welcome and the menu is extensive, varied and home made. Testimony to our visit, The pub was busy in all aspects including the accommodation. We can't wait to go back!

The owner was really accommodating when we brought our child and needed an extra bed. She went out of her way to make us all feel comfortable and welcome

Slightly drab establishment. It's a pub. I had a small room with two single beds. It was clean but looked tired and there was very little furniture. En suite toilet and shower. Quite dark and the place felt a bit musty. Breakfast was very average and served at the table. No buffet in sight. Coffee tasted like instant served in a metal pot. No frills. Quite rural and very quiet location. The building has a car park. The proprietors don't seem to have made much effort and at £75 a night for single occupancy with breakfast it was way overpriced.

I was part of a family group of 10 doing the tanat run I assured the rest of the group that based on previous (numerous) experiences that the Railway would be the highlight of the trip. From the second we arrived we were treated like criminals and warned of the implications of stealing glasses etc. most unwelcoming atmosphere ever encountered in a Welsh rural pub. Sad to say will not be supporting the current owner again. Wearing braces is no sustitute to offering a welcome which costs nothing. Feel sorry for the local community if this is the state of their Local. Cymru am byth
