Hotels near Peña Foratata, Formigal

I don't understand some of the reviews I have been reading here. The hotel is a pleasant place where to be. Aesthetics is not “occupater” as I have read there, it is modern, although it requires a maintenance pass. The spa is very pleasant and quite complete, a vapour sauna and Finnish sauna, hot stone hammam, several swimming pools, including a contrast pool, highlights the outdoor pool with views to the Fraile cascade. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very large and the bathroom was huge, but it was very good to say that the room was slightly sliced. Really beautiful location - mountains surrounding it and such a pretty little town. The first room we were offered was beautiful and large, but it was quite dark with only one window. We were quickly offered a choice of other rooms, which were slightly smaller, but with much more light flooding in. The set menu dinner was really great value and we enjoyed all three courses with a nice wine. Maybe slightly pricey on the B&B cost but we were there when there was a big event in the town so it was quite busy. Breakfast had a wide selection and the swimming pool was beautifully clear but icy cold!! The sun terrace was really warm though, so great to be refreshed then warm up in the sun. Really friendly and helpful team - thank you to the staff for such a lovely stay.

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary here. We chose it for the intriguing promise of history and luxury in the Pyrenees and we were not disappointed. We drove from San Sebastián and the weather was mist and rainy, very atmospheric. We had checked in online and our reception was smooth and efficient, and was made even better with a delicious glass of cava. Our room was extraordinary, luxurious and comfortable. The attention to detail is impeccable. We had a little trouble with the air conditioning but maintenance sorted it out efficiently within minutes. The bed was dreamy, the pillows and linen high quality. The bathroom and amenities were above and beyond what is normally offered. We had a lovely cocktail in The Library bar with a very charming and attentive bar man. Dinner at The International restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were delightful. We slept soundly on our cloud-like bed and awoke to a glorious sunny day. The view from our room was gorgeous. I opened the window and listened to the mountain silence and then the birds. It was heaven. Breakfast is outstandingly good. There is a cold buffet and you can choose a cooked breakfast from an extremely interesting menu. I had a delicious Aragon fried egg and Spanish chorizo and breadcrumb dish. Yum! There is a lot to see here from a historical perspective and it really added to the whole experience. It’s beautiful here, wherever you look. Thank you to everyone here for our extraordinary stay.

This hotel needs around €uro1m spent on it to make it a modern quality experience. Sound proofing is the #1 requirement. Next doors snoring is heard as if they’re in your room. Don’t expect to sleep beyond 7.30 in Rooms 113/114 as the chair scraping of breakfast diners is the worst of alarm clocks. Get to breakfast early, or the selection is severely reduced. Bread runs out, no bacon left, forget butter ……it’s margarine only. Staff didn’t care. The hotel offers spectacular views if the blinds can be moved, a two man operation. The beds / bedrooms were comfortable and clean and there were certainly great staff in the bar and cleaning the hotel.

Stayed for a week with the superb Hike Pyrenees walking holidays. Stayed in a junior suite with jacuzzi bath and huge bed. Small indoor pool and sauna - perfect to refresh after long hiking day in the hills. The hotel restaurant is not worth bothering with when there are so many excellent restaurants within 5 mins walk (Tiki) but breakfast is ok. The staff are so helpful and accommodating especially Laura on reception. Would certainly stay here again when visiting magical Biescas. Walk by the fields to the rear in the evening for Nightingale serenades.
