Ramnee Hotel

Overnight stay in warm and friendly hotel. Enjoyed my stay.

Comfortable rooms for us and our 2 small dogs. Staff very friendly and enjoyed our stay.

Stayed there on a business trip. I picked this hotel as I stayed there in the 90s and remembered it was a lovely hotel then. When I walked in it was like stepping back in time, it looked exactly the same. Unfortunately the rooms were also the same, dark mahogany furniture and faded decorated walls. On the good side the bed was really comfortable. They hotel did state that there was wifi but I think it wasn't working. The bar again hadn't changed either The food was very nice but a bit expensive. The garden area outside is really lovely so decided to take our drinks outside only to be sat at the side by some foreign guests who were drinking there own beer from cans and wine they had brought. I know times are hard for hotels and hospitality but there is business to be had. I was working at the Lossiemouth air base and business people are crying out for good accommodation and staying local to the base is essential. I think a revamp is well overdue. Make the rooms brighter with good wifi and connectivity and somewhere to work and that would attract business people like myself to come back time after time. Unfortunately at the moment, for me I won't be staying again.

Our room (204) was very tired looking, paint and wallpaper peeling and needs a complete revamp. The bed was not very comfortable and no rooms listed with king size beds ? I would have preferred king to the cramped double. The dining area looks OK but I was not impressed by breakfast ..it was just OK.

The staff here were extremely helpful and friendly, but our room was small and could do with an upgrade e.g. get rid of the shower curtain and there was paper peeling off the walls The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. although oddly there were 2 sets of curtains in the window. The breakfast was really nice with buffet and hot food service. However, the dinner was so very disappointing. The menu was uninspiring and they seem to have gone with quantity over quality with masses of chips. The menu was exactly the same every day. They claimed to have specials added but only saw one in several days. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel is ideally situated. However, I do not know how they are rated 4*.

After lots of research we booked the Ramnee Hotel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We loved the hotel, especially the location, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We enjoyed the hearty full Scottish breakfast before we set off exploring the area. Thank you for making our weekend so special. Will definitely be back!

A memorable stay in Forres. Stuart and Chris were very welcoming hosts. My room had a lovely view, was clean and spacious. Large and comfortable bed meant a good night's rest throughout my stay. The food was superb and well presented with good wine pairing options. The bar has a generous selection of local whisky. The experience was just immaculate and exactly what you want for a getaway in the highlands. Super.

It was fantastic. Really courteous staff. Room was so cozy and bright. Large selection of interesting and tasty food. I loved it. I wish you to experience the same. Will come again later.

The housekeeping staff also deserve praise for their attention to detail and maintaining the cleanliness of the rooms. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Forres.
