We went for lunch and did not use accommodation. Food with new chef Aaron was excellent, rivalling the best restaurants in Townsville. The salads, seafood dishes including calamari and prawn coconut curry were excellent and not pricy. If chef and assistant stay at this hotel, the venue will pick up after some very ordinary food served up a few years ago. Highly recommended.

Went for a mother day lunch. As most of us would expect we went for a relaxing meal by the ocean. Couldn’t have been worse ! Our reserved table just happened to be 2 meters from the speaker for the live music. A single woman playing women’s “power” songs. Sat at our table we had to yell at each other to even discuss the menu. With all the yelling done we went to order, only to be told told we couldn’t ! It was the buffet or nothing at the “bargain” price of $35 each. So off we trot (cold plate in hand) into a room that seemed like the owners living room. Think prison slop with a hint of school dinners !! at least they had an older woman as chief fly swatter as they swarmed the tray of meat. Beef and pork were cooked yet stone cold. Beef was like an old shoe in texture. Veg was cold and tough as old boots Then for desert… well… some Costco style chocolate moose and defrosted choc custard thing. Hopefully the owners read this. You have an opportunity to put yourselves on the map. As it is you literally couldn’t pay me to go back. I’m annoyed at myself for not demanding a refund. It was absolute garbage.

Rooms with queen bed, single and a trundle. Small but room enough. Clean and with items to make tea and toast. Facing the ocean front with sea breezes. We had a meal in the hotel which was tasty and reasonably priced. A live band played the blues on Friday night. They were wonderful.

This place is a little hidden GEM it’s a bit run down due to the last owners The new owners & management were extremely helpful fun and super nice I hope everyone continues to support this park & pub so it can get back to what I expect was an amazing place pre COVID

We stayed two nights on a powered site costing $90. While the facilities are old their upkeep and cleanliness is appalling. Broken locks and toilets seats and just dirty. The waste bins overflowing and smelly. Other site holders told us they had been complaining about the bins for days with no action being taken. In comparison we stayed at parks within 85km of Forrest Beach costing the same price. You could not compare how low the standards are at Forrest Beach Caravan Park and yet they’re expect to charge the same price. We were so disappointed. Will not be back and would not recommend.

Location fantastic, Needs updating. On the expensive side $45 power and water quite a distance. Basic just toilets and showers, no camp kitchen etc. Beach to the east and rainforest river to west. Watch out for coconuts falling from palms. Could be something.

Dirty, run down, dated rooms. Charged way too much for the conditions of these rooms. Very Disappointed. They need to be renovated or atleast a few touch ups and a deep clean. Didn't even have a outdoor table.
