Second stay in Comfort Inn and Suites in 4 years. Thought we’d try again after COVID. The hotel was under construction - didn’t know that at time of booking. Only the outer door was automatic. Once in the little cubby space with the luggage cart, the door into the hotel lobby has to be pulled open manually. Fortunately, a nice construction worker helped me since i was pushing a luggage cart. Elevator did not work on 3rd floor. Door keys locked us out on 2nd day - after a long day at a family funeral. Room was not serviced (dirty towels/out of towels, no TP - had to get it myself, full trash, out of cups, no ice bucket). After going downstairs to get the keys fixed (which took 15 minutes because only one person was working and there was a line at the front desk) got inside to get ice bucket to retire for the evening and had none. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Had to wait 15 mins again to get an ice bucket. Maids were cleaning right next door when they saw us leave and still did not clean our room. Paid more than twice for this disaster compared to what we pay for Quality Inn in Dallas and we get a much nicer experience there. Low low water pressure with very few strands of water from the shower head. Couldn’t adjust the flow. Took twice as long to rinse hair. Hair dryer had something splattered on it and wasn’t wiped down. Should have checked the bed sheets but was too tired. Noise from outside was very loud. Didn’t get to sleep until past midnight. Had helicopter circling the hotel (police) and police cars circling block. Missed getting hit by a speeding cop car by feet - no sirens. Miserable experience.
