TownePlace Suites Fort Worth University Area/Medical Center

I have been coming to this hotel multiple times over the last 6 weeks to visit a relative who is hospitalized. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, there's a nice complimentary breakfast every morning, the location is ideally located near some great restaurants, the Montgomery Street Antique Mall, and easy access to Harris Hospital. What _really_ makes this place great is the staff though. From Front Desk to Housekeeping to Maintenance to ”The Breakfast Ladies,” everyone seems to find genuine joy in helping their guests. Those smiles and welcomes and helpful attitudes make me feel like I'm one of the family. You can tell a lot about a place by the way the staff interacts with each other when they think nobody is looking...these are good folks who love each other and love serving their guests. My first experience kept me coming back, and now there is no place I'd rather stay.

I was only in the area for only 1 night and needed a place to sleep. The staffs at the front desk were nice and it was an easy check-in and check-out process. I didn't spend too much time looking around the room I had but it was clean enough for me. It was so cold that night but I'm glad the heater worked very well. Having a whole kitchen plus a fridge for the price is not a bad deal. There were even plates, bowls, and utensils.

I stayed at the TownePlace Suites in Fort Worth last week, and I have to say that I have not had a more absurd experience staying in a hotel in my memory. At 8 AM after a 1 night stay, housecleaning entered my room without knocking. After I let them know I was there, they left and I received a call from the front desk asking who I was. I let them know my name and they told me I was registered to another room (room 212). I explained I was given the key to room 330 at check in and went there. I checked out of the hotel and thought that was that. I then received an email from the assistant manager asking if I left my things in the room 212 after the room switch. I let her know I never switched rooms, I was only on room 330. She thanked me for clearing that up. I then received an e-mail later in the day informing me I was charged for another night because my clothes were left in room 212 and that I never was in another room. I again reiterated that I was never in room 212, that those were not my clothes, and that they should refund me for the extra night's charge. After not being replied to with a phone call and another email, they finally got back to me. This time the assistant manager informed me that in fact I did transfer rooms from 212 to 330 and would not be refunded for an extra night (an extra cost of $240). I don't think I've been gaslit by a hotel like this ever before and would not recommend it to anyone.
