L'ermitage- is like walking into a dream. The hospitality from the moment you enter the gate to the time you checkout. Oh, the picturess views are the main attactraction, the contrast between the lake and mountains was something I looked forward to seeing. Every morning felt like I was discovering something new, you just need to experience it, words can describe how perfect the place is. The pictures of the Honeymoon Suite don't actually do justice to how it actually look and how big it is on the inside. Lovely north facing balcony to sit and relax, enjoy the sun the whole day.Honey

Absolutely wonderful and beautiful place to stay. Gorgeous views of the mountain and the villas are just superb. Staff are friendly always willing to help and breakfast was good. Highly recommend for business the conference room is great.

We went to stay at the race for the Bastille trail run. We had friends staying at the accommodation in a Villa above us and both sets of families have boys of age 4 and 6. Our kids loved the little damn and stream with tadpoles and the amenities are fantastic. After a hard run, your shower and bath were well received and the gas braai was perfect for us to enjoy while not missing too much rugby! We love Franshoek and we love L'Ermitage. It was fantastic.

booked this property in july for a stay in dec. against to what was said in the booking was charged full amount. had to cancel and had issues getting a refund (booking was fully refundable) . now have to wait for weeks to get money back. be very warned when booking this place about their charging and mega difficulty in getting your refund

What a fantastic experience. Far surpassed our expectations, from the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, to the comfortable accommodation. We arrived to no power in the whole town and some surrounding areas, but didn't have to worry at all. We had a gas stove and gas braai, a fireplace to keep us cozy, and an inverter for TV and WIFI. Whisper was amazing, bringing us matches and wood. The restaurant was closed due to the power outage but reception arranged takeaways from a local restaurant for us. Power was restored that night. The breakfast was amazing. My husband raved about the scrambled eggs and I loved the beef sausages (and I'm super fussy). Our two teens loved the stay as well.

The property is simply stunning. It’s so charming and the staff are wonderful.
It’s a 20 min walk from the Main Street in Franschoek or a few pounds in an Uber. Don’t use the recommended car service from the hotel as it was 3 x more expensive than an Uber.
Out toom eas lovely with a small kitchen are and separate dressing room and bathroom with both a huge bath and a separate shower.
The buffet breakfast was lovely and the views even better!

I can't say enough how friendly and accommodating the staff were. We were a large party (9 people) and they arranged a last minute restaurant reservation and transport for us without any hesitation on a busy evening. Also, the location and the resort itself were breathtaking and their pictures don't do it justice. Will definitely be returning.

We drove 6 hours to have a girls spoil weekend and when we arrived the WiFi and the hot water were not working. We didn’t have hot water until the next morning 9am.
