Hotel Freixo Douro Superior

Quartos espaçosos, muito bem mobilados, limpeza impecável. Recepção muito simpática e eficiente. Não experimentámos as piscinas. Pequeno almoço quanto baste para um quatro estrelas. Sugestão de melhoria: mais cuidado com a limpeza da varanda.

Positivo: Simpatia dos colaboradores, pequeno almoço. Não usei a piscina interior, era pequena, mas pareceu-me bem.

Well located. The staff is super friendly. The hotel was close to the village. The room was huge and had a spectacular view. The beds were super comfortable, the bathroom was huge and luxurious. The stay was designed to rest and relax and that was exactly what happened. In the morning, the cleaning staff made a lot of noise, which was quite annoying for light sleepers. We also noticed that we could hear what was going on in the other rooms. One night I woke up scared because I woke up to someone snoring very loudly and who seemed to be in the same room as me. The best part of the stay was, without a doubt, the breakfast, simply divine, with a huge choice from fruit, to bread, to eggs, cakes, cereals. I loved. On the last night we had dinner at the hotel but it was a little disappointing. We were not served starters, we ordered a salad for starters and grilled octopus for two people. All it had was an octopus leg and two potatoes split in half. In short, the food was well prepared but little quantity. The dessert was divine. The reception and restaurant/bar staff were always attentive and friendly to us.

The space itself has a good view over the city but the morning cleaning staff made a lot of noise in the corridors and even talked loudly, the breakfast was of good quality despite there being few people staying at the hotel, we still waited to have a table ready for four stars. a little lower than expected.

I loved my stay at the hotel, excellent views and the magnificent town. The people at the hotel are very friendly. Without a doubt we will return soon.

It is a hotel that delivers on its promise. It is located half a dozen steps from the center of the village. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and well air-conditioned (at least in winter). A huge bathroom (maybe too much!!). The hotel has a restaurant, with a good menu, but we didn't try it because it was crowded, like the hotel itself. But the reception staff promptly provided a list of nearby restaurants, which did not disappoint. The hotel has an outdoor pool and also an indoor pool, sauna and Turkish bath. In winter, with the hotel full, the indoor pool area becomes somewhat chaotic. Breakfast, served in the restaurant room, with an excellent view over Freixo de Espada à Cinta, has a varied offer. Parking at the hotel is very limited (although there is a charging station for electric vehicles), but there are always spaces available on the street.

Fantastic accommodation for a relaxing weekend in the Portuguese Arribes: comfortable and clean room. Heated pool with warm water, free hours and beautiful views from its glass windows. Impeccable breakfast: varied sweet and salty and well stocked at all times.
