Aika Seaside Living Hotel

Die Lobby bzw. der check-inn findet in einer benachbarten Bäckerei statt. Parken in einem Parkhaus in der Nähe, aber man kann vor dem Hotel seine Koffer rausholen und aufs Zimmer bringen. Das ist kein Problem. Die Lage sehr zentral, die Zimmer sehr modern - leider funktioniert die Klimaanlage nicht vernünftig, das ist vor allem im Sommer ziemlcih ätzend.

We spent 2 nights in this superb apartment 602. Everything is perfect. Very large with a breathtaking view of Lake Constance and the quays from which the ferries depart. The bedding is very comfortable. The welcome in the Aika café next door was very friendly and attentive. We had breakfast there, excellent. Located right in the center of the old town, you can park the car in the Altstadt car park. I recommend without hesitation.

- It is a bar with guest rooms and not a hotel. Should be clearly communicated when displayed online. - I had to wait 10 minutes at reception because the employees were sitting outside in the sun and overlooked me. - The room (No. 603) is a quickly and carelessly separated part of an apartment: IT/TV cabling on the floor, hardly any sockets in the room, bathroom light switches (both in the bathroom and outside in incomprehensible places,...). - Not a single decorative object, not a picture on the wall,... - The bathroom is only accessible through the shower. What advantage it would bring is a mystery to me (except that it was the easiest way, see “separate part of an apartment”). You have to walk back and forth across the wet floor on the way to the bathroom. Maybe the tiled floor in the bedroom explains it. Even if they have a wood look, tiles don't add to the cosiness of the whole. - Unfortunately there was no hot water in the morning. Lady informed at check-out. She said laconically and quite uninvolved that there was repair work on the boiler and therefore there was no hot water from 7 to 12. I should have read the note (whatever and wherever). - 25 minutes waiting time at breakfast until a worker can take care of me. - no response to my complaint email, no response from management, and all of this for 200€/night in Friedrichshafen!!!!
