Ilunion Miramar

We stayed here as a family of 4 in a 1 bed apt this June, it was our first time staying here and it started well. The check in was quick and easy, the apartment we had was a bit dated looking but very clean. The hotel itself is kept very clean at all times. We stayed half board, the selection at meal times is limited but the food quality is quite high compared to other hotels we've stayed in. The hotel Gym has an extra charge, e22 for a week, it's an ok gym but can be a bit busy and a limited selection of machines. As mentioned in other review the hotel is on the outskirts of town but we found the bus service quite good. I would probably have rated the hotel a 4 but during check out no one asked us "how was your stay". All in all it's a clean hotel, nice pool area, and a good quality buffet.

Where do I start. Been coming to this hotel with family for years and this has been the worst experience. Staff in Bar/restaurant were very rude, ignorant and unfriendly. Food selection and service was a disaster every time. Made a complaint early in the week and it only got worse. Entertainment has gotten very poor day and night. Pool area not cleaned properly and sun beds never washed. Got a two bedroom for 6 people and the balcony was out of one bedroom with a tiny balcony to fit only four. Never given enough towels for six and one toilet roll. Beds very hard and uncomfortable. Not enough sockets and no mirrors in any of the rooms. Tv in kitchen and in one bedroom. Pool doesn’t open till 10.30am. Main reception weren’t as friendly as before. Ive been all over the world and it’s the first time I’ve checked out of a hotel and was never asked was all ok, did ye enjoy or hope to see ye again. Just took the key cards walked away while say thanks. Well next year in our family group we have a few big birthdays and 16 of us were planning to go there for two weeks but unfortunately that ain’t going to happen now. Will be on the look out now to fine a better managed, more friendly and well maintained hotel In Fuengirola. Very disappointed as we were all looking forward to our holiday and planning next year.

The best thing about this hotel is that with the window open at night it was still VERY quiet outside. Modern rooms, very clean, nice kitchenette, comfortable beds, a shower with bath and a second shower also, no bidet. The stovetop with finger-contact controls did not work to our surprise. It kept turning off and would not stay heated. We then had to purchase microwavable dishes instead - the microwave worked fine. Ample free parking, beach not too far to walk to.

This is the best hotel ever! We went as a family of 4 and it was just perfect. We booked a SC apartment and it had a bedroom with balcony and the balcony joined to the living room which converted into two more beds for the kids. They were adult sized beds so would sleep 4 adults (actually 5 as there is another small bed by the door). There was a well equipped kitchen with everything you’d need to cook and eat with. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard and there were plenty of towels and bed linen to make beds and keep warm. The hotel pools are lovely, there’s a larger adult pool which children are allowed in if supervised and a smaller children’s pool which was slightly warmer. The life guards are quite strict though and don’t allow any balls/floats/skimmers. There are plenty of sun loungers, in and out of the shade and close to the bar/restaurant areas. The bar and bar restaurant were great. We didn’t use the dining rooms or eat at the buffets so couldn’t review those. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk but there are various different ways to walk down there and so many children’s parks to walk through and stop at as well as a crazy golf course. There is also a big shopping centre just 5 minutes away with great normal high street shops (primark, Zara, H&M amongst others) and fast food eateries including KFC. Also has a Carrafour supermarket at the bottom. Lidl is also only about a 10 minute walk away in a different direction. While there you can walk to the local water park - Aquamijas, it’s about a 15 minute walk away from the hotel. We will definitely be booking the same holiday again next year. We loved it so much ❤️.
