After reading other reviews, I booked a stay that included dinner. The dinner was exquisite and the tableware looked quite high-end. We had a rich and well-serviced dinner, after which we enjoyed the delicious cakes we had ordered the day before. The breakfast the next morning was also very rich and delicious. We will stay again.

It's about a 10-minute walk, not too far. The hotel is clean and tidy, and there is a set meal of 3 choices for dinner. The surrounding area is relatively deserted, and it seems to be seriously affected by the economy. About 2/3 of the shops are closed.

It was cloudy on the day we arrived and we couldn't see Mt. Fuji, but we were thrilled to see the beautiful Mt. Fuji from our window the next morning! (Mountain view room)
There were no non-smoking rooms available, so we booked a smoking room, expecting it to smell, but we didn't notice any smell at all.
The bed was comfortable and we slept soundly.
The Western-style breakfast was also very delicious.
(It was a bit disappointing that the table we were assigned to was right in front of a pillar.)
Next time, we'd like to eat dinner at the restaurant as well.
