Unlike 5 stars hotels, this place are operated by unprofessional amateurs who doesn’t know anything about hospitality and their S.O.P.! Standard Operating Procedures means knowing how to prioritise guests who are business travellers who cherish quiet and exclusivity above everything else by putting them on the top floors and those noisy families with kids are always on the lowest floors to prevent them from stomping on top of every guests and making a total nuisance of themselves. Therefore, if you notice, in every 5 Stars hotels; all the Business Executives floors are always the 2 topmost floors! But the operators for all Grand Base are either too stupid to realise that or they just don’t care! Especially the extremely repugnant ******* staff- Taisei who enjoys putting all the noisy huge lorry loads of families on their top floors. Hence, disturbing all the poor business travellers living below. I don’t recommend this place. They don’t prioritise their guests and noise is a big issue!

Amazing

Size of the room is good enough for a family. Convenient location to have family mark, local restaurants and pharmacy around. Keyless room door access is amazing, I don’t have to worry my key card while going out. But we have difficulty to get into the main entrance without any password on our 1st day arrival. It made us sooo confusing that there has no front desk. Still wondering why I didn’t receive any email or msg before the check in date. Luckily one of the Japanese couple help us to solve while they passed by. A bit strange but never expected I have to pay extra 200yen per person before check in from a machine. Still don’t understand why we don’t have any notice before booking but on arrival. Wish all that can help the hotel to improve better in future.

The room is spacious, clean and sanitary. The location is quite convenient. It's just a little troublesome to check in. You need a video call for self-service check-in. The facilities are very user-friendly. Thumbs up

The facilities were decent and I was assigned to the first floor so it was easy to come and go. There were two convenience stores nearby and many cafes so it was good to go for a quick drink.

Overall it's pretty good. There are supermarkets and pharmacies nearby, and it's also quite close to the subway station. I think it's a suitable place for friends to live together. The tables and chairs are very comfortable, but there are a few sockets.

The hotel uses self-service check-in, so you need to confirm in advance whether you have received the check-in letter. The room is small and beautiful, with a kitchenette, washing machine, refrigerator, and a bathtub for taking a bath, but the location is far from the subway station.

There were bed bugs and mosquitoes. As soon as I checked in, I felt marks all over my body. When I entered the room, the surface was clean, but there were marks all over my body. The room space is sufficient, but it is not recommended to stay

It is clean and hygienic, with a washing machine and kitchen, suitable for family living. However, it may be difficult for first-time users if no one is checking in. It would be better to add a few more clothes racks.

The room was fine. I had to pay an additional fee when I checked in, and it was only by credit card, which was very inconvenient! If it had been included in the hotel rate in advance, I would have been able to stay there without any problems, so that's a shame.

We stayed here for a total of ten days from July 21 to 31. The hotel uses a machine to arrange check-in. It is necessary to pay a tax of 200 yen per day for each guest. For tourists, it is necessary to pay with a credit card. This is pay attention. In terms of location, it is basically within a 20-minute walk from the hotel to Hakata Station, Tenjin Station, and Tenjin-Minami Station. Its environment and indoor facilities are clean and comfortable, just like ordinary residences. However, since he basically has no front desk staff, we need to buy our own daily necessities (such as shower gel) when we need to replenish them. And they state that cleaning service will not be provided during the check-in period, so for those of us who stay in the same hotel for a long time, we need to clean it ourselves.

We spent 4 nights at the end of December 2023 at Grand Base Fukuoka. The room seemed a little smaller than the photos, however was alright for our family of 4 including 8 and 11yo kids. Much appreciated was the modern bathroom with shower and self-filling bath tub, and the washing machine. Would have liked slightly wider double beds and space for more seating in the living/ dinner area (the couch was just cosy for 2 people). We had to wait a little while for another guest to complete their procedure to check in at the terminal (for some reason I couldn’t click the link to pre-check-in on the website. Maybe as I am not a resident?). There was some server connection error but once I called the help number on the counter they helped me out. We sought help two more times when we keyed in the wrong room code and for help to book an early morning taxi. The first was dealt with helpfully, the latter was not so successful as the staff eventually explained they couldn’t help with booking taxis (we managed to book via the Go app eventually). The location was convenient - we walked most places - to Canal City, the Tenjin underground market. All about 10-15 minutes walk. We also walked about 7 minutes to catch the bus to Ohori Park. Overall a smooth stay.
