Very sociable kind staff who talk to you like a regular friend coming in, plain rooms but nice sized windows for the fresh air, great rooftop view alllllll over the mountain and the ocean - especially lovely at night as everything is lit up. Cute bar setup aside the pool too! Good price for its perfect location and cleanliness and covering all the basics and a bit more. Good brunch cafe just across the street facing the cafe! The staff were super helpful with setting up a late checkin too.

Back to hotel Windsor for the 10th time. And there were som great changes. The breakfast room have had a much needed renovation, and is now at great room with a nice atmosphere and nice breakfast. The lobby is now also brought up to a very nice standard. The staff at hotel Windsor were allmost the same as the years before. Very nice, helpful, friendly and professional at all times. The hotel is situated at the best place in Funchal. Within walking distance of all attractions, activities, restaurants and bars. The hotel is also close to busstops and the bus terminal to the rest of the island. Anything missing? the hotel is build without balconys and the wiew is to the neigbours, so you have to go to the top of the building where the swimming pool and the pool bar is situated. There is also a great wiew over the city and the mountains. So one star up from last time. You are doing great.

Ein in die Jahre gekommenes Stadthotel. Meist freundliches Personal. Sehr zentrale Lage keine 10 Minuten zum Hafen, Busbahnhof, Seilbahn und Markthalle. Leider nur wenig Abwechslung bei den Speisen und Fisch wird immer ganz durch gebraten. Die Zimmer wurden wohl renoviert aber es wurde nicht über Platz für Kleidung nachgedacht. Man kann viele Sachen aufhängen aber Regale gibt es wenige. Ich war allein im Doppelzimmer und hatte gerade genug Ablagefläche für meine Kleidung.

Recensies hadden we al gelezen en het klopt dat de bedden kort zijn, de douche in bad krap. We moesten op tijd (07:45) naar het vliegveld en hadden geen tijd voor het ontbijt van 07:30. We kregen een lunchpakketje mee wat bestond uit droog wit brood, een plakje kaas en geen boter of iets erop. Terwijl we zaten te wachten op de transfer ging het restaurant open maar koffie was niet mogelijk. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.
