We stayed at the Days Inn in Gainesville on Easter Sunday night. The motel itself was rundown and shabby , with visibly dirty windows at it's main entrance. The lobby and breakfast corner didn't seem much better, Our room wasn't much nicer , the telephone didn't seem to work or went unanswered by the front desk.We decided to walk back to the lobby and report our air conditioner not working only to find out that the desk clerk needed to go over to a large machine style panel and physically turn on the current for the AC for each room rented. We asked the young lady at the desk about nearby restaurants and about the Continental breakfast. She was knowledgable about dinner spots and reported to us that breakfast consisted of fruit, snack cakes , bagels and yogurt. The reality of the breakfast menu was one very bruised banana, packaged cereals, a smattering of Lil Debbie's and some miniature bagels. When I requested yogurt, I was told that they didn't serve that. The room was dull and lifeless, old spreads and no hand towels. Even the art over the beds showed a lack of caring, both of the pictures were identical. The exteriors were dirty with tree litter and looked unkempt.A very dirty car that had been backed in, with a three year old tag sticker on it's tag, looked abandoned. The pool area seemed clean.
