Oasey Beach Hotel

We stayed at this hotel from 01/16 to 01/25/2024. We were given a luxurious room overlooking the ocean, we fell asleep and woke up to the sound of it. The room stock is not new, but all the furniture is in good condition, the room even has literature in different languages ​​(apparently left behind by tourists). There was a case when the shower head broke, I contacted the reception, they immediately replaced it with another one. There is a safe in the room, we were sometimes able to leave valuables on the bedside table, there were no incidents. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels are changed upon request. The hotel area is very well-groomed, there is a swimming pool and a massage parlor. The beach line is wide, the sand is clean, there are few people, street vendors do not bother you. We had breakfast on the open terrace under a palm canopy. For breakfast there was always a fruit plate (mango, banana, papaya, pineapple), a choice of scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs with bacon or sausages, toast, butter, cheese and jam. Also on some days there were sweet pies with coconut, pancakes or roti (flatbread with spicy filling). Next to the hotel across the road are two small shops, a post office (if you suddenly want to send a postcard to friends), a bus stop is also nearby, you can get to Alutgama in 15-20 minutes and buy everything you need. There is also a beautiful Buddhist temple on the banks of the river Bentota Udakotuwa temple (we saw it while having lunch opposite in a cafe by the river).

So, my holiday on the island of Sri Lanka was planned at this three-star hotel in the small village of Induruwa near Bentota. The hotel is quite old and judging by the way it was built and looks now, in the first years after its opening it was presentable. The building consists of two 4-story buildings. One is central with the reception below, the second is above the restaurant. All rooms have sea views. Guests are greeted warmly and politely, with a glass of freshly squeezed juice. The staff speaks English, they won't understand you in Russian. The hotel rooms are not the newest, but nevertheless in good condition. Plumbing, of course, no longer requires repair, but replacement. It is worth noting that the rooms are huge, including a bathroom with a balcony (I did excellent morning exercises on it with a view of the palm trees and the sea😊). So, what is in the room: a large, very large bed with a good mattress, a dressing table, a round table, two armchairs, a chair, a large old but reliable wardrobe, two bedside tables, a small refrigerator, air conditioning and a ceiling fan (I did not use them , because the air conditioner was only blowing air, and the fan was so wobbly in the process of its swirls that it was scary😬), a TV without Russian channels (at least, I didn’t find them), a kettle, a couple of glasses, cups and plates, a hairdryer (I didn’t check for functionality), a bench for a suitcase, a mirror, well, that’s all. Oh yes, a safe that didn’t close 😂 👍. There is nothing soapy except for unidentified liquids in two small bottles and a piece of soap the size of 2 nickels. So take all your bath food with you. On the balcony terrace, let's call it that 😁, there is a table, two large wooden chairs, two stools for your feet (well done!) and a clothes dryer. Judging by the presence of ashtrays, smoking is allowed. The towels and linen are clean, but the grayish color and scuffs indicate many difficult days. It is worth noting the positive aspects of the room cleaning, it is daily and of quite high quality for Asia, I know that. All the staff, including the cleaners, are men and women only at the reception. Towels will be changed if they are in a special basket, although they took it from me anyway. They leave one bottle of water per person. In general, the hotel staff are responsive, and if something is wrong, they try their best to fix it. Wi-Fi in the rooms is acceptable, everyone has their own password. There were interruptions in the water supply, on the first day of my stay there was no hot water, and in the morning the faucet told me “ugh” with hissing air, so I had to brush my teeth with water from a bottle 🤨. In general, there is a problem with the pressure here; washing my hair was even more fun for me, plus at times there was no hot water at all. Yes, one more thing, if this is your first time in Sri Lanka - these are sockets. To insert our standard plug, you need to use some kind of device (I used a toothpick) to open the curtains in the third hole, then everything will work out, and then turn on the power to the outlet. Regarding sound insulation, get ready to sleep to the sounds of the sea. Road noise will be heard in the evening and morning

We vacationed with friends in February - March 2023. We chose an island and a hotel as an alternative to Thailand. And they didn’t regret it at all. The holiday was wonderful, we received a lot of emotions and impressions. We were here for the first time. We were very pleased. More details about everything. We only booked breakfast on the tour. We were served papaya, bananas, watermelons, freshly squeezed juices, coconut and various pancakes for breakfast, curry is a mandatory Sri Lankan program, butter, cheese, omelettes, coffee, drinks, omelettes with bacon and much more. Everything was delicious. The staff were polite, friendly and kind. Prepared dishes were served hot. Everything else is at the request and preference of travelers. Lunch and dinner, alcoholic drinks can be ordered from the menu. Always always a different curry. There is a massage parlor on site, which I did every day. All massage services and meals are not expensive, they are normal and much cheaper than here in Russia. Alcohol, seafood and all kinds of cuisine can also be bought and tried within walking distance from the hotel in shops, restaurants along the coast and in our town. The first breakfast was always the ocean. Swimming on the ocean coast is a different story. We became friends with the ocean, learned its character and became friends with the waves. The ocean was calm from morning until 15:00. Afterwards the waves intensified. The hotel is located on the first line. Your own beach, your own sun loungers, towels, cleaning, always clean. Always a friendly hotel owner. The days of our stay at the hotel were always bright: in the evening there was music, discos, one evening a turtle swam from the ocean and left its little babies. After swimming, we rode on Crazy Bus and electric trains around the cities of the south coast. These are Bentota, Hikkaduwa, Galle, Ambalagonda and others. We visited historical places and went shopping. We went on excursions, visited all the visiting cards of Sri Lanka, and, of course, collected and tasted tea. On Hakkiduwa we swam with large turtles, and saw elephants and peacocks in the jungle. Everywhere there is cleanliness, order and hardworking Sri Lankans. The British, Swedes, Poles, and Indians stayed at our hotel. Everyone had a good time. The hotel owner was friendly and welcoming. He showed respect to everyone, spoke English and Russian. The hotel maintained a routine for rest and sleep. After 10 pm there was silence. The hotel is suitable for staying with children and families. I recommend. The rooms were large. Each room has a toilet, shower, balcony, kettle, safe, refrigerator, air conditioning. Always cleaning, changing linen. If you want to get good emotions, vitamins, sun and swimming, this is Sri Lanka. I recommend the hotel!
