We were first given a room with a view on the bar and swimming pool, just next to the second floor open terrace which was awful in terms of privacy. Fortunately we were changed to a room on the far East of the old building and the view as fantastic.. the room was old but well maintained. The problem was the terrace door was not sound proof and we learnt at night how bothersome it would be. Because you see, our room was just above the restaurant that gives directly to the sea where waves crash on the rocks. Impossible to have a quiet night. Light sleepers better choose a room in the swimming pool area. Food was ok. Service as everywhere in SriLanka was slow and not very responsive. You had to ask twice for hot water or something. We expected more for a 5 stars. We tried the restaurant next to the spa on our last night and service was great there. The pizza at the pizza restaurant next to the pool was very good. Location of the hotel was great, a 5 min by tuktuk to the castle. Unfortunately, everything was almost perfect until the day we left. We realized the hotel has a monopoly on all the taxi and tuktuk that come and leave the hotel. As I couldn't book a car on Uber or kangaroo cab, we just asked a driver who just dropped a group of people if we could hire him and he was ok but the hotel staff interrupted us and sent him away because they asked us to choose from their drivers which was completely absurd. We insisted on using this driver so they entered in a negotiation with the driver to get a cut on the fees. Apparently these are common practices in 5 star hotels. A total mafia style management. Outrageous. And in the hotel room, you have a biography of the founder that highlight his ambition to highlight Sri Lankan hospitality. I encourage him to take a look in the mirror. For that I would not recommend this place, especially during winter vacation when prices are half a grand for 2 nights!

We stayed here in June when it’s low season so it’s not crowded. Staff was super friendly and the pool size is huge facing the sea. In June the waves are really rough so can’t go swim in the ocean. Breakfast and Dinner was amazing, hotel restaurant manager and staff’s service was exceptional. Our room was facing the sea so we get to wake up seeing the ocean. Room was very clean, the only thing is there are lots of spider babies around the sink and closet, also some tiny ants around, everything else is really good. We will definitely come again!!

Hygiene: I saw everyone's comments saying that the hygiene is problematic before. After entering the room, I found that it was indeed the case. There was hair in the bathtub, tea leaves in the coffee pot, which I found when I wanted to make coffee, and the same thing for breakfast. Flies were flying around. I don't want to say anything else. Environment: The environment near the sea is really good. Service: I arrived at around 1pm. I took my passport and sat and waited for a long time. There was no movement. I stood up and asked, and then I was told that the room was not ready and I had to wait for half an hour. You didn't tell me without asking, right? And after checking in, they knocked on my door just to give me a broken postcard. It's okay that there was no welcome fruit, but they only gave me two bottles of water. How can this be justified? Facilities: Very ordinary, not commensurate with the room price. Such a high price is just like this? The photos look good, but in reality, others say that the room is damp, but I don't believe it. After checking in, I really want to curse. Not only is it damp, but it also smells disgusting. What the hell is this? I will never come again in the future!

It's hard to review a hotel. It's really well designed. It's not luxurious but very beautiful and unique. I suggest you go and experience what the Internet celebrity spiral staircase conveys... It's hard to review... The location is very close to Galle Fort. The service and facilities are OK, but the food in the restaurant is terrible. In addition, the hotel sold my suite to someone else and upgraded me to a room I didn't like. I didn't accept it and ended up staying in a basic room. The hotel didn't even refund the price difference, so Ctrip paid for it out of its own pocket. I have to praise Ctrip, especially when abroad, even if there is a time difference, the response is very quick and active coordination and handling, everything is responded to, and everything is settled.

The Lighthouse Hotel in Galle is a low-key work by Bawa. The lobby is on the second floor. It is so beautiful, really so beautiful, that kind of simple beauty. The check-in speed is a little slow, but the service attitude is super good. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the SPA building. There are some steps, but the view over there is better, recommended. The room is quite large and the bed is super comfortable. The interior design is also very beautiful. Try to check in on a high floor, the sea view is better. The hotel has two main swimming pools, which are beautiful but really sun-dried. You can only go there after 4 pm. The breakfast is good, but not as delicious as other jetwings, but it is not bad~ There is a tuk-tuk at the door of the hotel. It seems that it is the hotel’s own employees. The price to Galle is 800, 600-700 is fine, depending on your mood. It is more expensive on the return trip. Remember to bargain. Good hotel. If I come to Galle again, I will stay here again.
