Initially, we thought we would be selfish and not share our thoughts on Ashen’s Beach house because we wanted to keep it all for ourself, but that wouldn’t be fair for the owners! We had 10 wonderful days and nights there. We were looking for an authentic beachside house away from the main tourist area, and this was truly it. The location is outstanding. A beach 100 yards from the door with very few people There. Sujana and her son Ashen could not have been more kind or helpful. Sujana cooked for us most nights and every meal was delicious. My husband needed a dentist and her son accompanied us to make sure we were ok. They have two beautiful dogs, generally I’m afraid of dogs but these 2 were so gentle (but also great guard dogs) it added to the feeling of security. Our room was spacious and bed super comfortable. We also booked an overnight safari trip which they organised for us. They agreed a very reasonable price (many people offering tours) and the trip was excellent. Dev the driver they recommend was safe, kind and helpful, he also did our airport transfers. If you’re looking for a western style hotel experience then don’t bother, but If you want to experience real Sri Lankan hospitality then Ashen’s is 10/10. We can’t wait for more holiday time to return.

One of the best on the island.
Very friendly staff, small number of rooms. Although it's a la carte, the breakfast is very tasty and varied. Infinity pool with magnificent views. Nearby is one of the best beaches on the island without waves - Jungle beach. I highly recommend choosing this place. By the way, I advise anyone who gets a view of the garden not to be upset - the sea can also be seen from there. Overall, a wonderful boutique hotel.

GGuest UserWhat a find ! Our large room was absolutely perfect - open the doors and there was the wonderful huge pool! Everything was so lovely, just as the pictures depicted - even better ! Breakfast was great, we had 2 meals at the hotel of an evening which were magnificent and set up poolside for us which was really lovely We were thrilled with our stay . The staff were delightful, helpful and kept the villa in such beautiful condition. Laundry was organised for us which was greatly appreciated as we were on a long trip and needed this done on short notice We cannot rate this Villa highly enough. TTraveling TanMy stay at The Heritage Hotel Galle Fort was remarkable, with its fantastic location being a highlight. Nestled conveniently close to a variety of restaurants and shops, it offers the ease of exploring Galle's vibrant culture right at your doorstep.
The proximity to the iconic lighthouse and the beaches, just a short walk away, adds to the charm of the hotel. Starting the day with the wonderful breakfast options available was a delight. Moreover, the professionalism of the staff was commendable; they were attentive and ensured a seamless experience throughout my stay.
The combination of location, service, and comfort makes The Heritage Hotel a place I would gladly choose again for future visits to Galle.

8 of Us ladies visited Angel Beach for a stay over night and the night full board was magnificent. Two ladies were from overseas and they are frequent visitors to Sri Lanka from the US and Britain. ”Heshan” our server is a young 21 year old man with a permanent smile which we saw even the following day after a heavy night service in the hotel. The Bar attendants, room service , entrance greet from the receptionist was quite pleasing that made us feel home away from home. The ambience , the location of the hotel the concept of angels, is heavenly. The starters can be a little extra yet we continued to indulge in the food satisfactorily. Please look after the staff who are doing an excellent job following the Hotel Mission and Vision. Safety for women was guaranteed and felt safe at all times and we will visit and recommend this place again. Good luck people, Maintain the good work . Ruwaiza Sela and her friends

GGuest UserOverall, it was an enjoyable stay although in some respects it was inferior to other hotels I stayed in on the holiday. The pools were great and so was the view from the room. The room itself was alright - quite basic but sufficient. We did have problems with a leak in the ceiling which was promptly addressed by staff but still a little annoying. In general the staff were lovely: in particular Chamindu in the restaurant, a security guard who called me and my partner over to show us turtles on the beach (sorry, can't remember his name) and the guy working the sunloungers at the lower pool. The weakest part was probably the food. It wasn't bad exactly, it was just worse than the food in all the other hotels I stayed in.

FFred ConcklinWonderful place with a lush garden in Unawatuna area in the main tourist road. They let us for an early checkin so we didn’t have to wait in the lobby area. Room was spacious with modern furniture and included a minibar. Air conditioner worked perfectly. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was spacious. Hot water worked perfectly. Modern fixtures too. Green villa was close to all the main attractions. Highly recommended for a calm, quiet, comfortable stay in Unawatuna area.

Since our planned accommodation was out of the question at short notice, we found the Cozy Sea View Inn via ************ and had our tuk tuk driver drop us off there. We received a warm welcome and were able to choose one after viewing two rooms. We chose one on the ground floor with a small terrace. The room was very spacious, clean, well equipped and smelled very good. There was a fitness studio right next to our room, which can be used by hotel guests. We didn't take advantage of this, but we still thought it was a great opportunity. The manager Rajesh was very friendly and helpful. When he found out that we wanted to travel further to Unawatuna, he offered to take us with him since one of his drivers had to go that direction anyway. The location of the hotel, on a side street off the main street, was also ideal for us. The beach was within a few minutes' walk, as was a huge selection of restaurants and other shopping opportunities. We were really happy about our spontaneous stroke of luck and would love to come back.

The first morning we had an unusual ”set” breakfast, which was understandable as no buffet was offered when there were so few guests. Water pressure/temperature was unstable and there was a weird pulsating noise in the bathroom. On the positive side, the staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. It's a lovely estate in absolute terms and stunning in relative terms. Very near the trendy fort area, which is worth a visit. Overall pleased.

MMichael8787The advantages of the hotel are a very good breakfast and dinner. Buffet. Very abundant. There are both seafood and local cuisine. Delicious.
I would also like to note the traditional Marriott chain quality of bed. I slept great on it.
The beach in this place is excellent. You can swim safely - the waves are not so strong. Everything is very picturesque if you go left and right.
Now about the disadvantages. Unfortunately, there are more of them. The staff are very unpolite, you felt like you were not welcome here, they were doing you a favor. Fake smiles. On the day of check-out, a little after 12, for a few minutes the staff began knocking on the door and demanding to vacate the room. Is this worthy of such a hotel chain?
When I tried to pay at the reception with a Union Pay card, the staff said that the terminal for Russian cards did not work. Although, in other places and hotels in Sri Lanka, everything worked without problems and it was possible to pay everywhere. I explain this behavior by lack of customer focus, which, again, is very strange for a hotel of such a chain as Marriott and for the service.
I also want to note that this hotel did not have orthopedic pillows or any other pillows - when I tried to find out about this possibility, I was rudely told that there were no other pillows and that was all. In general, for the staff, service and their attitude - a big minus and a bad rating

RReaishenghuodemoumoumouThe guy at the front desk was very nice. He patiently told me how long it would take to walk and which direction to go when asking about nearby banks and restaurants. The room was not very big, nor was it new. It was a little different from the pictures. There was a train track under the balcony. Fortunately, the trains were not dense and only passed by once in a while. But it was okay for a temporary stay for one night, after all, the price was very cheap.
