Hotel Giardinetto

I think I would describe this hotel as basic, quaint and comfortable. Quaint as in its rooms and safes are locked with an actual key, which is unusual in my experience. Basic as in the rooms are plainly decorated, however, there are essentials like a very large mirror in the room over the 'dressing table', and an even larger one in the bathroom. I found the bed comfortable, but the pillows were quite hard. If you are on the large side, or have mobility issues, I don't think the shower would be suitable for you. It was very small, and when trying to bend down to wash my feet, I needed to be a contortianist! I also had to hang on for dear life as the bottom of the shower was extremely slippery. One minor criticism I would make is that they left the top sheet folded on top of the bed. I know it was hot, but the last thing I felt like doing, at the age of 77, and with a bad back, was bending down to tuck a sheet in when I arrived. I would have thought it much better for the bed to be made, then it would be easy enough to pull the sheet back if it wasn't needed. The breakfast was fairly basic - don't expect a full English. The only cooked food there was was something that resembled scrambled egg, and some hard boiled eggs. However, all the usual ham, cheese, yoghurts were in good supply, along with a few pastries. Also melon, pineapple and apples were in abundance. Sadly, there were no bananas until the day I left, which was disappointing for me. I couldn't fault the staff. Most of the waiters/waitresses were cheerful and friendly. A couple who weren't very smiley I put down to being tired as they work so hard. I must give a special mention to Emmanuel, who always served me with my cappucino in the morning at breakfast, and Alex, who was always bright and cheery in the evenings. Susana in Reception was extremely helpful. The two lovely cleaning ladies were always friendly and smiling. The hotel is very convenient, both for the ferries, and for the little supermarket just round the corner, and I enjoyed my stay there. As for gratuities, which another reviewer complained about - I didn't hear them mentioned once in ten days!

This is a lovely little hotel, it is very basic but it is exceptionally clean. The restaurant on we were in is quite small but never intended to stay in other than to sleep in. They have a fair sized bathroom with walk in shower, big mirror in both bathroom and bedroom area. They do have a hair dryer but it’s not powerful. The beds were comfortable and cleaners always tidied and cleaned the room. No kettle/tea/coffee supplies which would make it even better but we were allowed to pay for tea/coffee in the cafe and take it up. Perhaps would be better if guests in hotel got tea/coffee free? Breakfast was continental and the choice was huge, definitely the highlight. All staff polite and helpful cafe/restaurant can get really busy.

The service at this hotel is second to none. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The receptionists and the night porter are wonderful and the waiters are without exception the friendliest bunch you could wish to meet. I would like to particularly mention Alex, Ray, Tarif, Rayhon and Emmanuel who we saw every day and never failed to be happy and provide an excellent service despite working long hours in temperatures in the upper 30s. Can't wait to go back.

We have just returned from our first ever visit to Lake Garda and Hotel Roma and it will most certainly not be our last. This small family run hotel is spotless with people who cannot do enough for you. From the owner, his son, Susannah on reception and all waiting staff in restaurant, we could only find friendly and exceptional people. Special mention to Alex who served us every evening at dinner and looked after us so well. We had a fourth floor lake view room and our views were outstanding. Our room was spotlessly clean and our maid was in every day. Lake Garda is truly stunning and we very much look forward to returning next year and staying at Hotel Roma. Thank you all !

This hotel is spotless but there is very little comfort there. The room we had was very small and trying to get clothes in and out of the sliding door wardrobe was not a great success. There was no full length mirror and no mirror on the dressing table which would have been handy for putting on makeup. The shower was tiny and dangerously slippery it would benefit from a non slip mat The breakfast was nice enough and again everything was spotless. The waiters were friendly but quite clickish and without exception they mentioned gratuities each time we paid for something and it was quite off putting. We stopped going to the restaurant even for a drink because of this. The location is great but the hotel needs upgraded and modernised. There are better hotels in Garda for the same price - I would be looking at those for a future visit.

Based on other hotels I have stayed in in the area, this is a very good 3 star but not really 4. Great location overlooking the lake amongst restaurants, bars, shops. 5 mins walk to the boat or bus station. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Room very comfortable and recently refurbished (I believe all rooms have been) with tea/coffee, mini bar, good air conditioning. Breakfast - limited choice compared to other 4 star hotels. Roof terrace - fabulous views. Maybe needs a few more loungers as there are only six. Would be good to have loungers that offered some shade. Towels provided. Jacuzzi is great but needs a step for shorter people. Any drinks needed to be collected from the bar downstairs yourself. I would stay again.

We have just returned from our second visit to the Hotel Roma and this time was even better than the first. The hotel has made some significant improvements. The restaurant staff were excellent, very friendly and hard working at both breakfast time and in the evening. The breakfast was mainly continental which we found it to be very tasty and enjoyable. I am not an alcoholic drinker, preferring a pot of tea which was so delicious every time. We had a lovely room with a fabulous balcony, which was serviced every day to a very high standard, by two friendly ladies. We came home relaxed and refreshed, determined to return very soon. Me and my partner have just returned from our holiday in Lake Garda staying at Hotel Roma. Woo what can I say! FABULOUS! So happy we booked this Hotel, its 1st class, everyone working their are so friendly and very helpful, rooms are spotless, we had a Terrace on the roof top and the views were breathtaking, breakfast is really good , and plentiful and what a view to have it sitting at the Lake. We eat in the restaurant a couple of times food and drinks were excellent and not expensive. The position of the hotel is great short stroll to ferry and bus station. Lake Garda itself is fabulous and absolutely beautiful, within being there about 10min you just feel so relaxed. We have holidayed in many countries, but Lake Garda has stolen our Hearts. We are already booked to return next year. Would 💯percent recommend Hotel Roma. Thank you Hotel Roma, keep doing what you do. See you all next year. 🥰💛

Stayed at Giardinetto for 9 nights in July 2024 in the junior suite. The room was perfect, excellent shower and the whole hotel spotlessly clean with a beautiful view of the lake from the balcony that had two seats and a table. The lovely people working at Giardinetto and the restaurant were so welcoming and warm and really helpful (special thanks for making our stay perfect dearest Maria). We ate at the restaurant one time but wish we would have done it again. The rooftop was very nice but small and could use a few umbrellas. We loved it and highly recommend a stay at Giardinetto and the town of Garda!
