Remodel was in progress during our March 2024 stay. I don’t know if that was relevant to the blaring smoke alarm at 8am on a Monday morning but that was a very rude awakening and rough start to our trip. Pros: Nice friendly staff. Room and bathroom were very clean. Location and parking were perfect. It was worth the negatives to be this close to downtown (quick walk). Pancake restaurant next door was a plus. The pool and hot tub looked nice although we didn’t use them. Cons: Did Courtyard invent a new bed size? That felt like the smallest King bed ever. Another review mentioned this too. Very odd bed situation. Pillows were awful. 4 of 6 window panes were permanently fogged so the view that should have been amazing was 2/3 diminished. The Bistro, although staffed with helpful and friendly employees was depressing and empty. The cold food in the Bistro frig looked old and sad (yogurt parfait had separated and pooled substantial liquid in the bottom for example.). The seats were all cracked and badly worn. I was extremely hesitant to order food but the coffee ($3.50 for plain coffee) was tasty enough as it was the only option other than making your own with tap water in the room via the provided single-serve pot. Fairfield’s lobby coffee station was sorely missed during this Courtyard stay! The things that can and hopefully will be addressed during Courtyard’s remodel will allow for us to give this hotel another chance one day perhaps.

I really wanted to love this place. The location is perfect to quickly get to the attractions in Gatlinburg without fighting traffic and the views are incredible. The food from vista grille is surprisingly delicious for hotel food and the welcome cookie was so good. The front desk staff and restaurant staff are the best. So polite and friendly each and every time. But this place is busy. It is a convention center and there was an event every day during our stay. There is not ample parking to accommodate a packed hotel during peak season and daily events. Allowing guests to park in the fire lane seems like a major safety issue. The rooms are a decent size however, the beds are not great unless you like sleeping on a worn out extra firm mattress. The rooms also need a deep cleaning. I understand that there is a quick turnover between guests but these rooms haven’t had a good cleaning in years. There was hair left behind from a previous guest in the bathroom and years of dust behind the couch. For almost $300/night, I expected more.

Okay there’s a bit to talk about here. Mostly good! Cons: If you are a bit of a clean nut - this place isn’t for you. The one *major* thing that bothered me was the bedding. There wasn’t a mattress cover between the sheet and the mattress and I just kept thinking about everyone who laid there before me. The carpet was in need of a steam because if you walked barefoot it made your feet turn black. I wore my flip flops the whole time. The room smelled a bit like smoke and we ended up going to get an air freshener. We did also have turn down service but they only did our bathroom and didn’t make our bed. Very funny lol but we weren’t too upset. I think the place just needs to be renovated/a deep clean and it would be perfect. I was in room 266. Also, the breakfast isn’t eggs and bacon etc. It’s biscuits and gravy which in my opinion was not the tastiest and simple things like cereal and bagels. It’s great in a pinch. Pros: That river balcony is everything. It’s such a soothing sound and you see bears almost every day. We saw 3 bears during our stay. I would come back just for that! There are two pools which are often never used. There is one that seems to be for adults which I had to myself one afternoon. The walk to town is about a mile one way - which after hiking the smokies all day is the last thing you want to do but it’s nice to be out of the crowds. Amazing breakfast and bbq spot across the street. The staff were so nice and helpful. Overall - happy with the experience but I am someone who is picky about sanitation and that’s why I docked the star. You get what you pay for. If you don’t mind an older spot that needs some love, this is a perfect place.

Checked in 10/11 when we arrived at our rooms we had 4 there were 16 of us one room we could not get into. The card unlocked the door but the security bar was in place and we couldnt get in. Tried calling front desk several times with no answer. Went down to lobby to find around 20 men that did not speak English in the lobby being very loud and disruptive. They would crowd in front and put there phone in the young lady at the desks face im assuming translating it to English. When i got to speak with her she had manger on the phone so he was telling her what to do to get into the room She came upstairs and tried with a piece of copper wire that was unsuccessful. She said she was going to go get a different tool and we continued to try to get the door open knocking and yelling to see if anyone was in the room with no response. We worked for 45 minutes or so and finally got into the room, to find a lady with 2 children in the room. She was yelling at us to get out. Which only one stepped inside to try to explain why we were there. Something was very suspicious about her. So i went back downstairs to tell the young lady at the desk that we have another issue she still on the phone with the manager and said she would get a different room. Before we had asked for a different room we were told they had no vacancies they were book. But somehow had a room for us then. The young lady was still dealing with these men in the lobby. She came up and entered the room to check and be sure it was good. Shame on the manager for not coming in to assist her, she said she was the only person in property for all night. Ifeel that was a very poor manager that left her in that situation However was very concerned with her safety. And ours as well at that point. So and hour and a half had passed and it was almost midnight before we got a room. On Sunday morning we went up to the breakfast are and there were all those same men very load and rude crowding taking up all the seating and taking 3 plates of food at a time. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Its a beautiful facility but the management is terrible!

We were on a road trip from Wales, and after staying here in 2019, we chose it again for 1 night between our 2 days in Dollywood as it provides the excellent, and complimentary, TimeSaver pass and shuttle to the park (parking is free at the hotel). Logan on the desk was fantastic - thank you very much!! The hotel itself is beautiful and very comfortable and homely. The decor is tasteful (with Dolly pics here and there) and there is a great coffee shop on site where you can also buy cinammon bread (why wouldn't you?). Minor quibble with the room which was on the 3rd floor (2nd UK), but at the very end of the building so a little bit of a walk for our tired legs! But the room itself was as our previous visit, very comfortable and clean. The grounds are beautiful with a butterfly garden, fire pits for smores, lovely pool (also an indoor pool), kids play areas and a covered area that shows family films in the evenings. Pokeberry Lane is a nice little gift shop selling Dolly, Dollywood and Dreammore souvenirs. Unfortunately the budget on a 2-week road trip from the UK means we had to restrict ourselves to 1 night - but if the price was just a little bit less we would have definitely stayed the full 4 nights we were in the Smokies. That being said, it is a very well-appointed hotel and probably worth the price in today's climate.

We have stayed here several times in the past. As you can see by my previous reviews. Unfortunately the renovations must have been cosmetic. The place again is looking very tired. I actually watched a cleaning lady use a lint roller type of contraption on the end of a broom handle to “vacuum “ the floor. Not one vacuum cleaner was seen anywhere on premises with any cleaning lady. One lady foot mopped the bathroom floor with a dirty guest towel. It’s like a restaurant, once you see the bad things no matter if they improve, you can’t unsee it. So I’m done with this hotel. I’m sure it happens everywhere but when you see it. 🤔🤔 you start questioning everything . The breakfast was like it was cooked way earlier. We got there at 7:30 and the biscuits were rock hard. We asked for fresh and she said that’s it. The eggs were room temp and everything else is mediocre. The waffles were good. Very low grade syrup. It’s Best just use butter and fruit. I get it times are changing and food prices are rising, but if it’s sub par just stop offering it. The room prices were on par with others around the area but the amenities were definitely lacking here. The whole place smelled like my grandparents basement from the 70’s. Not too terrible but a definite musty damp smell no matter where you were in the hotel. Beds were comfortable, room was adequate once you stopped noticing the musty smell. BOTTOM LINE: This used to be my go to place for price and convenience and quality in pigeon forge. Maybe it’s a combination of factors, staff, environment, inflation etc why they have let it get into a motel 6 category but I’m done with this place for good or until some SERIOUS changes are made. We had a family weekend and we had three rooms here. All members felt the same as I do. Unfortunately it was me that made the reservations for the family so I had to endure the complaints. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE TO UNLESS SOME LARGE CHANGES ARE MADE. **side note. Front desk staff were very friendly and professional

Outstanding
GGuest UserSo first off let me say that this hotel is still an ok place to stay. I would however also say that by charging 300+ a night for a room you have certain expectations, and those were not met this trip. From the outside, the hotel was lovely as always. The lobby seemed clean but had a few minor issues, and the furniture seemed like it could use a refresh. So my initial impression was favorable. We got to the room and at first glance, things seemed ok, but when you started looking around that's when the issues started. First, the chair had a fabric piping that was half torn off. The carpet seemed to be really worn in spots and could have used a cleaning. The shower had a patch job that looked like someone with no experience slapped calk around the edge of the shower and the drain; it was seriously an eyesore. Then when my daughter went to take a bath she told us it looked like something black was on the walls. Sure enough, there was something black on the wall. I am no mold expert, but it appeared to be black mold although I have no way of confirming that. Then we went to look at the beds before we got in and one bed had a blood spot on the mattress cover that lined up perfectly with the mattress itself so I know that no one even attempted to clean it; all they did was slap a clean fitted sheet on the bed. The mattresses on the beds are so bad that my wife and I woke up with sore backs every morning; I never used to have a problem with their beds in the past so I can only assume that the mattresses are in need of replacing. Also on the balcony when the HVAC unit is running it sounds like you are sitting next to a jet engine. I have stayed at this hotel at least 5 times in the past and do not remember the HVAC being so loud on the balcony. Also, they claim to be short-staffed on housekeeping so they only offer room cleanings once every 3 days during your stay. That means if you need towels, toilet paper, or the trash taken out you have to call them which is not great for what you are paying for this room; I can see every other day, but seriously every 3 days is ridiculous! The hot tub had tiles missing and water was leaking through the opening of the backer board which I cannot imagine is good for the hot tub. Also on all 4 nights of our stay, it looked like the hot tub got cleaned 1 time. When you are charging 300-500 a night for a ”standard room” depending on the time of year you have expectations that things will be taken care of, and that your room will be clean and well-kept. I used to pay 150-200 a night for this hotel and the hotel was immaculate, so clearly someone is taking the money and not reinvesting in the property. I stay here to escape the bad experiences that I've had at other Gatlinburg hotels, and that used to work until this trip. I really hope they reinvest in this property and gut all the rooms to do a complete makeover because otherwise there is no way this hotel is worth the price they are charging current
DDfloyoKeep in mind this is truly a historic hotel. We were caught off guard when we first entered our room but quickly realized it had everything we needed. This truly turned out to be one of our favorite spots ever. If you are looking for a modern hotel with fancy amenities this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean hotel with wonderful staff and a slower pace this is your place. We were always greeted with a smile from the desk to the cleaning staff. Breakfast was delicious, and they served fresh tomato slices with it just like my grandma. The hotel is right in the middle of the main activities so you can come and go easily. The rocking chairs around the porch were a perfect spot to rest. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. Can’t wait to go back!
- This is a dated facility that has had a few updates along the way. There was a gap under our entry door that you could stick a finger through. We had an adjoining room with unknown guests on the other side. The guests were not an issue, but the locks are old and seem very inefficient had their been an issue. If you look at the surfaces in the room such as the dresser, side tables and bathroom, everything appears clean. However, don't look at the dirt on the air/heating unit or baseboards because they have not been cleaned in a very long time. - The breakfast options are somewhat anemic, however the girl that took care of the desk and breakfast area did a really nice job keeping things stocked and cleaned up. (Most appreciated.) - Upon check out - No one got a receipt....we were all told it would be emailed to us. Hence, if there was a discrepancy in our bill we could could not address it at the time. It felt evasive and shady. - If you have a river view, it is very nice. It is restful to listen to the river flow. The chairs are hard and have no cushions, so your sitting time becomes limited. There is a pathway down to the side of the river, so check it out. - The parking is tight, but definitely saves you the $10-$20 that others charge you to park in the Gatlinburg area. This facility is within walking distance of downtown and makes for easier traversing since you don't have to figure out where to park. - Overall, the stay was okay. I feel like they are working on making things better, they just have a long ways to go.
TTamarasisterThis is an older hotel in need of updates & cleaning Booked a double queen with sofa bed only to find the sofa was not a bed but we made it work Under the cushions was pretzels, crackers, candy & popcorn we used paper towels to clean it out The floors were wood and very dirty in need of a mop and steam clean, the drop ceiling had multiple water stains, the tub was dirty we cleaned it with a bottle of bathroom cleaner and sponge we always travel with. The staff was hard to locate as they were upgrading the office and working from a nearby room. Parking very limited. Although reviews stated breakfast was minimal that was not the case there was none offered. The pool looked clean several guests used it although we didn’t The only plus was location to parkway was within a block Not worth 400$ for a 3 night stay
WWander_GirlNice Hotel, located on right place in Gatlinburg. We stayed for 3 night here when we visited smoky Mountains. It was comfortable stay. All tourist locations are nearby. They have free parking and breakfast was ok.
Ok. To be fair in this review, I am saying from the start that I will stay here again. My review is for others, as for me, I can deal with less than ”exceptional”. The motel is very dated. There is no was around that fact. If you are going to be spending the majority of your time in the room, this might not be your best option. If you are using the room as a place to rest and recharge as you visit the *****, then you will be fine. The biggest two advantages for this motel are the location and the price. The most reasonable pricing I have found for summer visits, especially for weekends. The location is great. Actually, if you planning on visiting Anakeesta, this is the perfect location. It literally is a five-minute walk to the main entrance gates. If you prefer to visit the *****, start by walking towards Anakeesta, and about halfway down, you will see a sign with a small walkway that says “The Village”. Take this shortcut and not only does it put you in some of the neatest shopping attraction in Gatlinburg, it also allows you to bypass most of the foot traffic at the redlights and allows you to enter in and out of the main sidewalks on the *****. It is a great shortcut. Back to the room, it is as others report, in need of some TLC and remodeling. On our visit the pool, which our room overlooked, was very unappealing. It was in need of serious maintenance. There was a smaller pool near the center of the complex that seemed more inviting. The bathroom in our room was extremely small. I am talking about barely having enough room to get out of the shower and to dry off. But back when the motel was built, the concept was to put more focus on enlarging the living areas, and reduce the necessity areas to the smallest functional size. It is not a fault of the motel itself; it was all purposely designed that way. I will also have to be fair and mention that hot water is a blessing when you do get it. A couple of showers were in lukewarm water, at the best. But it is manageable. I did not enjoy the pillows, or the course feel of the towels and sheets, but then again, as the traveler’s moto goes: pay less and expect less. One other plus, is that if you do your research, you can also bypass the main ***** in Gatlinburg to get to the hotel. You can take a shortcut by Dollywood and come in the back way. This is a narrow, two-lane mountain road, but it saves time in traffic. You can also take a shortcut at the first redlight as you begin to enter Gatlinburg. It winds you around a short trip to the upper end of the parkway, and then you can follow the GPS to the motel. We never had to suffer the delays of trying to drive through the *****, and the continual foot traffic that ignores the walk / Don’t walk signs at the traffic lights. So, to make the most of your stay, bring your own pillows, bring some Lysol, some room freshener and then get ready to explore Gatlinburg. I know that I will.
GGuest UserI picked this hotel based on reviews rating and pictures. I wasn't disappointed. My husband was a little apprehensive when we pulled in, a fresh coat of paint on the balcony rails would do a world of good for curbside appreance. Check in was good the front desk man on check in was not the most friendly person. Room was great, clean comfy bed fireplace and loved the balcony. Plenty of space in here the entry door could use a little TLC. Breakfast was really good 👍. Monday morning at check out this guy was great sorry I didn't get his name. Asked if we saw an bear told him we did and he showed us video of bear on the property. So if the maids don't clean your room for a bit this is a real thing. One picture showed the bear in the maid cart it was crazy. Wonderful stay would stay again, actually I already told my husband let's go back.
JJIANThe location is on the outer edge of Gatlinburg town, about 20 minutes walk to the town center, the town center is very lively, restaurants and shops are numerous, suitable for leisure. Hotel facilities are slightly older, but the price is cheaper than the hotel in the town centre, standard American breakfast. Parking is free. Overall good, recommended stay.
AAnonymous UserI came to visit the Great Smoky Mountains and found this hotel from Ctrip.com. It is very cost-effective and has a good geographical environment. It is close to the main street of Gatlinburg town and is convenient for travel. The receptionist is an Indian, warm and kind, responsive to all requests, and the breakfast is rich.
