This is a family-run hotel and restaurant and the staff are lovely. There are some older rooms and some rooms in newer wings - I stayed in a newer room and it was very nicely fitted and looked quite modern (though the TV in my room was very small). I stayed here during the off season - there were very few guests - and received a nice upgrade. The included breakfast was a continental breakfast which was pretty decent although the selection is quite modest if you're staying for a few days. Everyone has an allocated table at breakfast so there's no worry about finding a space. One of the great things about staying in a place like this in Gengenbach instead of Offenburg or Freiburg is that you get a Konus card when checking in, and that entitles you to free public transport through the Black Forest for the duration of your stay - look it up on Google.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut, da gibt es nix zu meckern. Das Restaurant ist auch super. Eines muss ich sagen: Warum gibt es Aufbackbrötchen zum Frühstück? Unterstützen Sie doch einen örtlichen Bäcker. Dann wäre es perfekt.

Sehr schönes und perfekt gelegenes Hotel. Das Zimmer im Haus Sonnenflügel ist modern und zweckmäßig eingerichtet und ist sehr ruhig und sauber. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig und reichhaltig. Hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit des gesamten Personals.

Wer hier anreist ist richtig. Herzlichkeit Freundlichkeit Sauberkeit Service, alles zusammen perfekt👍👍👍 Wir waren zum 60 er unserer Freundin in der Sonne. Drei Einzelzimmer ? Ja gar kein Problem.Von der ersten Anfrage der Zimmer, bis zur Abreise waren wir drei Frauen sehr zufrieden.

Wir waren mit der Familie über das Wochenende im Hotel und hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit dort. Das Hotel liegt in Mitten der Altstadt und verfügt über eine Tiefgarage. Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer mit zwei Doppelbetten. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und verfügen jeweils über ein TV und eine große begehbare Dusche. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist vielfältig. Gerne kann man hier auch verschiedene Eierspeisen bestellen. Das Abendessen war von hervorragender Qualität. Der Service von Ankunft, über Reinigung bis zum Check-Out ganz hervorragend. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Auch die Kinder haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Der vergessene Teddybär kommt per Post nach Hause.

Wir haben mit Familie auf dem Weg in den Süden einen Zwischenstop in Gengenbach eingelegt und eine Nacht im gemütlich Hotel Sonne übernachtet. Das Hotel ist ein nettes Familienhotel mit einem schönen Restaurant und einem super Frühstück. Alles perfekt, bis auf den Geräuschpegel in der Stadt. Wir sassen im Restaurant, das an der Hauptstrasse liegt (die Zimmer liegen glücklicherweise im Hinterhof) und fühlten uns vom Lärm knatternder Motorräder sehr gestört. Das Kinzigtal und die Schwarzwaldhochstrasse sind beliebte Strecken für Motorradfahrer, von denen doch sehr viele einen Lärmpegel hatten, der durch die Mauern drang. Im autolärmverliebten Baden-Württemberg scheint man das gewohnt zu sein, aber uns hat es den Aufenthalt sehr versauert, auch wenn es in den Zimmern ruhig war.

Haben dort das Nachtessen eingenommen. Wir waren beeindruckt vom sehr aufgestellten, freundlichen Service. Auch die schmackhafte, ideenreiche Küche wusste uns sehr zu gefallen. - Ser gerne wieder, werden die Sonne gerne weiter empfehlen.
