Nice hotel at Town. Awesome experience with nice room. Spacious room and bathroom with big bathtub. Very good amenities at room. Very close to town, great location. Buffet breakfast simple and ok. Nice pool. Friendly staff and helpful.

TLDR: There are far more better choices at this price. Booked this hotel for my birthday trip(birthday on the day I checkout), made a note to the hotel and arrived early in the morning to check-in. Totally fine with leaving the luggage first and coming back later when the room's ready (however I know there are room's ready because it's still available online and it's not a holiday, on a weekday). The staff told me to come back 2.5 hours later, but there is a better room if I wanted to pay more, then later on she said the room will be ready in 1.5 hours with no phone call whatsoever during the check-in. There were no greetings AT ALL! It simply feels unwelcoming and no words on my birthday as well. The front desk service is utterly, just simply awful. You'd imagine a 5 star hotel does better than this but unfortunately this is just terrible. When I came back for my room in the late afternoon, I got the room just outside of the pool where it's the most crowded and noisy and moldy. Also, the bathtub is broken as you can see in the pics. I spoke to another staff about all this later and there wasn't any compensation, they'll just fix the tub that's all. For anyone thinking of coming to this hotel, just DONT. For the price I'm paying you have so much better choices by the beach.

While we enjoyed our stay here, there were a few small mishaps that occured. Upon check in, we were told that our room rate includes breakfast and we can have late checkout till 2pm. However, we found out next morning that this was not true and breakfast would be additional cost on us. Furthermore, we were locked out when we tried to re-enter our rooms at 1215pm. There were also attempts to get us to check out early despite the 2pm late checkout promise. It would be also be good if reservation requests (i.e., room with bathtub) be honored since there's no additional cost/upgrade required. Room amenities could also have been improved on, the coffee spoon is one use only and our room didn't come with body wash initially.

Stayed in the pearls suite with my family. Room is clean, cosy and spacious balcony. Location is very convenient surround with good food walking distance. Will sure come back again. Overall we all enjoyed the stay.

Absolutely loved the geographical location of The George. It’s conveniently tucked within the vicinity of Lebuh Campbell, Lebuh Kimberly, Love Lane, Muntri Street and Chulia Street, which pretty much gives us access to a good mix of hipster places and array of traditional Penang street foods. It takes away a lot of burden of driving and looking for parking spots as we could just go on exploration by foot. Loved the blend of modern design with traditional touches in the room, with a view of Komtar tower out of the window too. Special mention to the bidet toilet that came with seat warmer, it was a game changer. Wished we had more time to have a dip in the swimming pool, heard that it’s a salt water pool instead of the usual chlorine-treated pools out there. Looking forward to coming back to the George the next time we visit Penang.

Overall is good, The staff are helpful and understanding. Just that Breakfast start at 7am, actually abit late for us as this is a business trip so will need to rush for breakfast! Room is good just that is next to the main road so abit noisy~

Check in process took awhile, even though we were quite lucky and there was no queue when we arrived. Managed to check in around 1+pm. Lobby and rooms look clean and new, but I did kill a couple of mosquitoes in the lobby and the lift. Pool and gym were unmanned, and no water dispenser or bottled water provided at either facility. Gym is small and quite stuffy, but functional. Equipment is new. Breakfast buffet is average - can do without given the myriad food options nearby.

We booked last minute and ended up getting a good deal on Trip. I was traveling with my mother so we got two separate rooms. My key card didn't work 2 of the 3 days, which was not that big of an issue... and there was sometimes the smell of smoke in my room. Overall it was a great experience, friendly staff, nice environment and decor, but not entirely sure I would rebook again for that price.

Great room, eco friendly. Didn't try their breakfast, we're in Penang afterall, and next to Kheng Pin which serves really good lor bak for breakfast. Only downside is that they're still renovating/constructing their steam room. Had a happy surprise that the pool is salt water instead of chlorine, which is amazing to swim in. Would come back here when I'm returning to Penang.
