Tido Hostel - 5min Walk to Penang Road Food Street - Central George Town - Near Komtar

dormitories was decent, a/c functioned well even at night, not too cold & not too warm… got other roomates who travel from few countries, but we only mind our own business.. upon check in a towel & a blanket provided.. pls bring your own shampoo or shower gel bcs some toilet doesn’t even refill… the common area in level 5 smell quite unpleasant especially the kitchen area due to its poor airflow if without the a/c on water filter like cuckoo or coway was unavailable, only tap water filter available to use at the kitchen sink, which i’m doubting of the water purities but had no choice bcs so thirsty… hostel management should put one for guests use overall nice & worth the money, considering to choose staying here again only for short night

Good location. Near to public transport and famous eataries such as roti canai Transfer Road. There is self laundromat nearby the hostel if you wish to wash your clothes. Down side: no shoes allowed inside the premises. One way is good but no floor mat provided even outside the bathroom and you can see water stains on the wall. Housekeeping need to make sure that bathroom is being cleaned every day especially the wall. The staff are friendly but do take note the front desk operation hour if you wish to check in later or check out late. No curtain on the bed therefore lack of privacy.

There is no privacy curtain if you staying in mixed dorm room. The bunk bed is big enough for a 1.73m guy like me. There is an old chinese breakfast cafe beside it which i really like. Otherwise you can walk to the main tourist street where there are various restaurants and food options to choose. Level 5 lounge area is where common kitchen is located.

Some of the white girls were really noisy at night one of them was really noisy at 2am. One Chinese girl was talking loud on the phone at night. One girl had come into my bed and turned my light off which I DIDNT LIKE. I really thought that was DISRESPECTFUL. I really didn’t like that.

Not bad for a budgeted trip. The room is quite cozy and clean, making it suitable for close friends. The only problem I found is that the toilet is separate from the room.

At first, I thought it was just an ordinary hotel. But when I experienced it, it was very good. The mattress was soft, the room was clean, and the receptionist had the best solutions. I was very satisfied to be able to sleep in that room, even though the bathroom was outside.
