I stayed I the holiday inn Johannesburg for about 5 weeks for business, the rooms were comfortable and quiet considering the amount of air traffic overhead , the rooms were clean and well kept , the staff were great , and breakfast was varied and good selection , the hotel is kept secure by the gate staff . Special thanks to the bar staff who tried their best to keep the bar stocked for 8 people sitting drinking by the pool most days ( Linda and William can’t remember the other names ) but they all done a great job Would certainly return again on next visit well done guys and girls

My stay at the lodge was very pleasant. After many hours of flying, the amenities are sufficient to relax and have a rest before connecting flights or before your next move. Staff at reception were lovely, friendly and helpful. Andrew who is part of staff in charge of pick-up and drop-off, waited quite a while for me the collect baggage and was extremely patient and understanding. I’d highly recommend staying there.

OK, so let's start with the 'not-so-nice stuff'. Look, it is what it is. It's a 3-star (at best), hotel that was converted from apartments into a 'suite' experience hotel. It's cheap as chips, so with that in mind you're obviously not going to expect anything flash. The towels, while clean, could certainly do with being replaced. Overall, a fresh coat of paint would not hurt and the kettle was abysmal - we actually ordered our own kettle from 60/60 - the one in the room had not been descaled in...well, ever. It's very basic accommodation, the telephone in the room didn't work and the extractor above the stove was diabolical. Now, for the good stuff. The staff are AMAZING. So friendly and super helpful, check-in was breezy and even though we arrived a full 2 hours early, we hardly had to wait for our room to be ready. Aside from what I already mentioned, the room itself was SPOTLESS and that made up for the 'niggly' bits. The location is great, just a few minutes from the airport and close to the areas we had business in. Honestly, for what one pays for this place, there are no complaints. You can order from 60/60/ Uber Eats/Mr Delivery and there is a restaurant on site - although we didn't order from them, we left early and came back fairly late so it was just simpler to order in - and they delivered to the room. So all in, if you're not in Jozi for a holiday, then this place is kind of ideal. Internet was fast enough and complimentary and as we literally only used it as a base for our dealings in the big city, it was more than adequate.

I spent 8 nights here on a business trip. The perfect hotel for me located in a cul de sac in a very quiet and green part of Johannesburg next to the Bruma lake park. The rooms were clean, spacious and equipped with a mini kitchen. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A bonus for me was that the lay out of the hotel allowed me to safely make a circuit of 400 meters enabling me to walk 4 Km every morning. The location is also close to the Eastgate mall and 15 minutes from the international airport. I would recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a comfortable safe stay in Johannesburg.

We had a problem with the safe and they moved us immediately. The rooms are very large and comfortable. All the staff are very friendly and willing to help you with anything. They recommended a tourist tour and it was very good. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. They have shuttle service and they can take you anywhere for a reasonable price as well.

I have lived here for how many months? honestly the management Has a wrong way of treating their guest long stay or not.. I mean I was paying 650 everyday and never once did they remember to send a cleaner..don’t pay up by 10:41am and then cleaner comes after 10days and she isn’t supposed to clean?! Celeste and Peter were the most kindest and unbelievably accommodating hosts I have met to date. From the moment i arrived to the day I left, they showed so much care as to my well being. The Breakfast they served was fit for a King and Queen. I just loved their love and care they shoed. The room I stayed in was spectacularly comfortable and had everything in it to make life so very much relaxing, especially after a hard days work. Even the Shower and bathroom had more than the usual soap that a hotel would normally provide. There was a bathing scrunchy, Shampoo, fragrant bathing and shower gel and just so much more. Every morning, Peter or Celeste would get up early and make sure that the Coffee (specially brewed by them) was ready for me. Seriously, I have never experienced this type of hospitality in all of my travel, whether in South Africa, China, America, Central Africa, and every other place I have been to. Do you know that they even waited up for me when I arrived at 01h00am the one morning because I had been in meetings right into the night - Wow, that was altogether amazing. GGuest User4 Star rating “WTF”: Let me state upfront for the record, this is the worst accommodation in JHB that I have ever stayed in! Forget 4 star, lucky to be rated as 2 star. Whoever issued the 4 star ratings was either paid off or owns a share in the establishment. Arrived to a receptionist that could barely greet you. Should have known this was a bad start. No offer to assist with luggage despite no lift facilities. Room was basic but like the hotel, in a desperate need for a makeover and renovation. Carpets are dirty, instant coffee sachets and a bar fridge that had frozen over clearly indicating lack of cleaning and attention. No bath or hand towels in the room - but wait - the phones don’t work so you have to make your way back down the stairs to to unfriendly staff. Housekeeping took 15 minutes to bring the towels. Wait there’s more: no hot water. Back down to Ms Morbid to ask for the basics. Wait 30 minutes. Hold on the horror story is just warming up. Shower drain is blocked and just fills up with water. Back downstairs to this time discuss with the manager who is clearly not concerned with the feedback and arranges in house plumbers (a sign that this is a common situation). Plumbers do their thing and the entire room is filled with the stench of foul and insipid water for the rest of the evening. Asked the manager for the early cancellation policy details but he had no idea what this entailed. My 3 night stay ended up being a single night which I would have changed if it wasn’t after hours. Ended up staying at friends for the remainder of my trip and wasn’t even going to try my luck for breakfast after reading the other reviews on the online platforms. Please I urge you to reconsider this venue for your trips! Don’t waste your time and money. The hotel doesn’t care for their guests. The facilities are disgusting. The choice is yours !!
