Well what can I say . The place is nice it's a pub . The manager was how can I put him of a know it all . We got there early and ordered food. Food menu needs work . Over priced and needs more on the pub food . Don't get me wrong what we had was lovely in the afternoon. But that part of the menu stopped at 5 . What I don't like is the "room tour" don't mind being shown to my room. But I do mind the manger walking into the room with a woman on her own to show her around. The room is small I'm sure I can find the shower room. My partner was parking the car at this point. Anyways the room. Small to be expected it's a room in a pub . I was clean but why have a heater in the room that can't be used? Also the chair had seen better days and needs to move out of the room . The bedding was clean. But oh my god the worse night's sleep we have ever had . The bed was so uncomfortable. Sack of potatoes would of been more comfy. The pub at night . So after we came back from our day . We was told by the manger that the kitchen shuts at 9pm . That's fine. We order a drink and look at the menu again . Nothing much to go on as the Indian menu looks good but not everyone likes it . We order a pizza and chicken , chips. Just what u get is what u get . Pizza could of been cooked longer. But was to tired and just want to go to our room . What I did observe was the locals in the pub young lads coming out of the loos sniffing with white on there noses .. but again it's a pub. The room we was in was above the outside area it was loud I was not bothered but some ppl would be. Breakfast was just a simple cooked breakfast rather nice. But that's it nothing much else to offer. It is what it is a cheap pub stay over . Needs better beds and a good pub menu and they would really crack it ! If they got new beds and not do the room tour we would use again if down that way .

This place is a disgrace I booked to stay for a funeral which I stated when I booked. I was struggling to get there to pick the key up in time so asked if I could pick it up on my return,no help whatsoever. They then cancelled the booking and gave it to someone else 3 day before the funeral and have kept my deposit. I have now had to miss the funeral due to no availability anywhere else, staff extremely rude and unhelpful, avoid this place, extremely unprofessional!

Lovely historic pub in the very nice village of Chalfont Saint Peter. The lunchtime menu was not extensive but what they did do was very nice. Also a very nice pint of Rebellion IPA is always very welcome. There was plenty of comfortable chairs and the setting was very relaxing. I’m not sure what it’s like in the evening, but I can imagine it’s a very nice pub to have a pint in. Recommended

Had a good meal despite the building being damaged by local flood in the bar area which was not their fault. The staff tried hard and were pleasant, the restaurant had a calm, relaxing atmosphere and was clean and the food reasonably priced for this area. Would definitely eat there again.

After reading some of the previous reviews I was a little sceptical. I have since spent several nights in the hotel and eaten in the restaurant almost every time, and this is 100% my new home away from home!!! Beds are super comfy, rooms are wonderfully rustic just like the rest of the pub but with all that you would need like the coffee machine (couldn't live without it!) Food is fresh but the carvery is without doubt my favourite part of my stay at the weekends. Well done to the new manager as it seems he's really turned it around in the few months he's been there

This evening i was extremely disappointed, we had been out for a work dinner and we wanted to finish our evening in the Greyhound. We finished our meal at 21:15 and we strolled to the pub. When we arrived there was no lights on and the pub seemed shut. I doubled checked the Greyhounds opening hours online and it said they shut at 11pm. If these hours are incorrect please do change your hours online as i got my work group excited because they had never experienced this pub. I also came with my family on sunday 14/01 and i wanted to go for a drink at 7pm however the pub was again shut. Before i departed for the pub i rang ahead and a gentleman spoke to me and told me that they were deep cleaning the kitchen and were unable to have the bar open. I am deeply dishearted that my local pub has changed drastically in the last 6 months it’s no longer the homely feeling pub it was before. I will now find another local that will appreciate my custom. I would appreciate a rapid response to this as it has ruined my week in my home town.

We stayed one night in November in a deluxe double room. The Inn is obviously centuries old with wonky stairs and creaky floorboards, all to be expected. Our room was large and clearly aimed at people only staying one or two nights as the wardrobe was tiny. There was a Nespresso machine and a kettle with tea and coffee on the desk. Also on the desk was a lamp which I had to move on to the floor as it was in front of the TV. The bathroom was a good size but I was so disappointed with the toiletries; I expected either the small bottles of shampoo, shower gel and conditioner or the ubiquitous wall-hung versions but found instead big bottles of head and shoulders shampoo and another brand conditioner. What I thought was an almost empty bottle of shower gel lying on its side turned out instead to be another shampoo - perhaps we were expected to use it as shower gel. In between the two sinks was an empty wall-hung hand wash bottle but there was at least a (well used) bottle of hand wash on the side. It all seemed a little haphazard and uncared for and not what I expected for the price we paid (£129). When we retired for the night I watched TV while my husband fell fast asleep. When I eventually turned the light out to settle down I became aware of breathing that wasn’t mine or my husband’s. I woke him up to be sure (I know, my bad) and he could hear it too; he thought it was the person in the next room. I eventually fell asleep and in the morning my husband said he was certain it was the person in the next room as it had turned into snoring at some point. So, not the haunting experience I initially thought but the wall must be very thin and I’m glad my late night TV viewing hadn’t kept them awake. Breakfast was a pared back event. Lovely hot coffee to order but not a lot of options and a hot breakfast is extra. The staff we encountered were lovely and we enjoyed drinks in the bar with friends when we first arrived but I doubt we’ll return.

We were looking forward to a bowl of soup and a break. The soup was as dull as the staff. Potato and leek but I think the leek escaped but not the salt, of which there was too much. And a dismal knowledge of the drinks stocked so just a tonic water. This should be wonderful, it isn't but the loos were nice

Came here with some friends, flat coke, fish and chips were grey in colour and tasted awful. The worst meal I have ever eaten. The chips looked like potato peel that had been fried.. Fish was soggy and tasted really odd. Staff are terrible, they don’t care at all. Left us waiting ages to order, never checked if we were ok. I couldn’t wait to leave! Was that bad, I would give it 0 stars if I could.
