My adult son and I just finished a 3-day, 4-night father-son Gettysburg trip and the Federal Pointe was perfect. We each had our own rooms and it was well worth it. The rooms are very large by today’s standards, with high ceilings. The location is excellent, with ample free parking right at the door. We enjoyed the Pub downstairs for one evening meal, and the cafe just on the other side of their parking lot that they are associated with had bountiful inexpensive breakfasts (best blueberry pancakes EVAH). The staff was friendly and personable as well. Gettysburg is not all that big - a 4-minute drive will get you from one end to the other - so even though the Federal Pointe is on the north side of town, it is within walking distance of just about everything. Our FAVE pub, the Garryowen Irish Pub, is just two blocks away. General Lee’s HQ is just up the pike. One caveat - since this was originally an 1890s schoolhouse, access to the second floor is by stair only, so request a ground floor room if you need to.

The Federal Pointe Inn was an excellent place to stay. A convenient location within walking distance of the charming downtown area. The staff was friendly, accommodating and attentive. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We loved the historical aspect of the building and appreciated the uniqueness of its features. We also enjoyed having breakfast at the Federal Pointe Grill in the building adjacent to the hotel. My husband & I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting the Gettysburg area!

We spent 2 nights at this uniquely characterful hotel and it was like walking back in time but with mod cons to make our stay comfortable. Loved the antique decor and the afternoon tea in the hall was an added bonus. Beautifully appointed room with good quality linen and towels and a comfortable bed. Delicious breakfasts available at the diner across the car park (also owned by Federal Pointe Inn) and fantastic evening meals at the basement bar and restaurant with its elegant dining room. Walking distance to Lincoln Square so it’s a good location. Would recommend staying here if you don’t want a generic hotel but one with some character.

The absolute BEST stay in all of Gettysburg! We’ve been to Gettysburg several times, but this the first time we stayed at this cozy, historic inn. The staff is incredible and the rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. During our two night stay we opted for a room with a spa tub and it was glorious! After spending our days on the hot and dusty battlefield it was a treat to take a nice refreshing soak and then shower in the wonderfully modern granite shower. We definitely enjoyed our experience and will be back again! It’s hard to imagine that this was once a school because it’s beautifully decorated and you can tell that restoring it into a boutique hotel was an absolute labor of love. Highly recommend grabbing dinner and drinks in the pub downstairs. We can now testify that we drank in school!

Lovely hotel in a great location at a good price. Our room was on the first floor. It was spacious with very high ceilings. We enjoyed the larger mini fridge as well as the afternoon tea option. The air conditioning made it a bit cool but that's probably better than it not working. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed learning about the history of the building and identifying to school house features. We had breakfast at the grill across the parking lot and it was very good. We look forward to staying here again.

The positives: The room main room was a good size. The rooms were clean. The bathroom was big but very poor lighting and no exhaust fan in the ceiling. The staff were friendly and nice. The negatives: The room we were in faced the street. Street noise was very bad due to motorcylces going by till late into the evening. Very disturbing. The curtains in the bedroom did not block out the light. The lights that illuminated the building could not be blocked out from the curtains. This too was very disturbing. The smaller room did not have a curtain on the top window so we had to keep the door closed to block the light. The air conditioning unit in the main room did not adequately cool the room the 1st night while the smaller room was very very cold the next morning. So the 2nd night we had to leave the door open to the smaller room. As a result, the outside light from this room was not blocked out and this was very disturbing. This contributed to an unfavorable experience.

A wonderful old hotel. Beautiful renovation. Spacious rooms. Great staff. Very helpful and pleasant. One nice thing: While very close to the center of the town, it is located in a quiet neighborhood. Because it is such an old property beware there are no elevators.

Our fourth visit to the Federal Pointe Inn in Gettysburg was exactly the same as the first three - absolutely wonderful. Consistency is important to us, and every aspect of our weekend stay was predictably excellent. The rooms are comfortable, and well-outfitted with a superb bed and really nice furniture. Bathrooms are immaculately clean, and the hospitality extended by staff is beyond comparison. The details obviously matter to ownership, from the afternoon snacks to the extensive collection of artwork displayed throughout the inn. Can't wait to return!

I sought out this hotel because it was so historic and I felt it fit what I was looking for on our trip to Gettysburg. Unfortunately, the only room I could get was a room labeled "Different Building". But I booked it anyway and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was a very nice two bedroom room in the historic house next door to the hotel. There was a wrap around porch with chairs that we sat on every evening. It was quiet and comfortable and walking distance to downtown. Loved it. The staff were super nice and there is even a pub in the basement of the main hotel. We didn't get to go though. I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I came back to Gettysburg.
