A 5 all the way!!! Well done!!! The service, postcard views, proximity to local shops / restaurants on and around Main Street, amenities, and exquisite rooms are beyond a 10 let alone a 5 as being best. This is my second visit. Looking forward to returning again!

Very nice place -- not perfect but very nice indeed. We stayed in a big room without much of a view, but with a working fireplace (gas) and a lovely seating area. Great bed, great bathroom, and super-nice staff who seem to like their work. Highly recommended.

When we arrived at the bar, it was very quiet, maybe 4 or 5 people plus us. I went to check outside and take a few photos. My husband was ordering drinks for us. Two Rusty Nails, and the bartender wouldn’t make mine because she couldn’t see me (was outside) and proceeded to tell my husband or should I say imply that she couldn’t be sure he wasn’t drunk ordering two. Not only could she barely speak English, she had no idea how to make a Rusty Nail. I would think the supposed caliber of your establishment would hire qualified professional people. When I returned, she did make the drink. This was also the night of the Presidential debate and a few people at that bar wanted to watch it. Another bartender turned the channel and made the announcement that management doesn’t allow political viewing. The last I checked, this is still a free country. Those people left. The bartenders are rude, unprofessional and unpleasant! We are very educated people and in our sixties. We were appalled at the whole experience and your establishment. We were not only offended by your bartenders remarks but their actions. I will tell anyone and everyone not to support the establishment and why.

Gloucester and Rockport are such beautiful New England towns to visit. We arrived in the area on Sunday evening and started to drive throughout the area looking for vacancies. It wasn’t prime season, so there were lots of rooms available. Quite a few lovely oceanfront hotels that looked nice but had slight problems with dank feels to their lobbies. Then we drove by the The Beauport Hotel. It looked gorgeous and was perfectly situated. We went in and were mesmerized by the splendor and beauty and meticulous condition of the hotel. Everything was perfect. The Lobby and bar and restaurant all had a ritzy feel to it. and Incredible views of the ocean…. and a rooftop bar (and pool) that were magnificent. We stayed 3 nights and loved every minute. I would recommend this hotel to anyone…. An easy 5 Stars.

Let's agree that if you spend more than $500 a night on a luxury hotel, there are things you expect: well appointed room, very comfortable bed, lots of amenities. Beauport checks all those boxes. Add in the fact that it's right on the water and has a rooftop deck with a stunning view: bonus. The real plus, though, is the staff. Everyone one I interacted with, from the front desk staff, to bartenders, to valets, etc. were all unbelievably attentive and kind. I was there to attend an emotional event and they all went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. I really wanted to give my stay 5 stars, except for one thing: The 1606 Restaurant is mediocre at best. I had a dinner and a breakfast there and was hugely disappointed with both meals; a mix of overcooked and undercooked to the point where I ate less than half of each. So, yes, do stay here for the comfort, the views and the staff, but eat your meals elsewhere.

We just returned from a too short stay at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester and it was a perfectly wonderful experience! First of all, the hotel is beautiful, situated right on the water in Gloucester. The area surrounding the hotel is a little rundown with factories, etc. but that doesn't take away from the setting of the hotel itself. We found the service to be outstanding at the Beauport. From the front desk personnel, to the bartender at the rooftop bar, to the staff in the restaurant, to the housekeeping staff who provided chocolates and extra towels, it was a first rate experience. The hotel provides a shuttle service within a three mile radius of which we availed ourselves. Kyle, the hotel's pleasant shuttle driver, took us to Good Harbor Beach for a morning walk, and promptly returned for us when we were done. We found the 1606 Restaurant for both dinner and breakfast to be extremely reasonable for a restaurant within a hotel. The service and food was very good and the views were amazing! We will return to the Beauport as soon as we are able and highly recommend it if you're looking for a hotel in the Gloucester/Rockport area.

I LOVE this hotel. Upon first glance, it looks like a historic New England grand hotel. It is actually only a few years old. The design and decor is absolutely beautiful. And it has a magnificent view as well. I can't say enough good things. Also, very nice staff! I can't wait to return and stay longer.

We visit every year in August for my husband’s and daughter’s birthday. It is our very favorite beach resort. As always, we love everything about our Beauport stay. We also did the Beauport Bubbles and Brunch cruise for our daughter’s BD celebration and had a blast! Highly recommend!

Absolutely terrible customer service. Booked a room online. They have a 72 hour cancellation policy. I called at hour 76 to cancel. They told me that this date was non-refundable. I'm not infallable, I make mistakes - this wasn't one. There was absolutely no notice of a non-refundable booking on their site and through the booking process. They then asked if I was still interested in staying there, but later date, and we were so. At first, they were amenable. They said take a few days to find another date that works for my family. I figured, why keep arguing about not having any notice of non-refundable booking if they are going to work with me to move the date, so I agreed. I called 3.5 days later and they said I took too long to pick a different date, so they couldn't help me or refund me. Really rude, really inflexible, and unwilling to address the root problem - the booking date was NOT non-refundable on the site to begin with. Have stayed there 4-5 times over last 6-7 years - will not be staying here ever again.
