I was here 2 years ago & back for another trip in the area. I have to say there is a huge improvement to 2 years ago but still an ongoing project. The manger tries his best but only so much he can do with what he has to work with. The owner is the problem. they have updated with new friges, microwave & even coffee maker. As well the grounds have been cleaned up, bad in 2022. Rooms need to be better cleaned. Due to the lack of accomodations in the area you do not have much choice. It is what it is. Sad that the owner who lives on the mainland does not really care.

Loved the view and the hospitality room where you could have a continental breakfast. Also a good location with the Ridge Pub next door with the best food in town. The rooms were simple but clean and everything worked. The windows needed cleaning outside as the view is incredible.

We stayed here with our daughter and son-in-law for the night before boarding the Uchuck boat. Ben , Jamie and Les were all very welcoming, rooms were spotless and breakfast was plentiful. An amazing dinner at The Ridgeview Pub right next door on arrival and only a ten minute drive to the boat dock in the morning. Highly recommend for a quiet friendly stay.

This place is a rathole. I'm amazed that someone commented that the "community" room is nice. It was filthy. We were afraid to use anything in there such as plates, silverware etc. There were dead bugs in the windowsills that were by the tables. Don't be fooled by the "free breakfast. It consists of stale muffins, stale bread etc. And as I said, the place was filthy. Since we left I have itched all over and have visable bug bites.I was afraid to sleep in the bed when we got there but had no choice since there was no where else to stay. Quite frankly, I wonder when the sheets were last washed. They also charged $20.00/night for a downstairs room. That room was so disgusting that we moved to an upstairs room even though a knee problem made stairs hard to navigate. I requested a refund for the $20.00/night since I was sure he had not adjusted the bill and I was right. He did refund our money when I asked, but would not have done it without my asking. Once again, this place is horrible!!! My husband and I are frequent travelers and I can honestly say this is the nastiest place we have ever stayed.

For what we had to do in the area, the location was perfectly convenient. It seemed that there were some recent updates - new floor, updated kitchenette, new windows etc. The rooms were nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. The complementary continental breakfast in the hospitality room was a nice touch, especially for early-risers like us who wanted get going early in the morning. The staff were friendly, informative and accommodating - extra towels, information about the area and activities, early check-in.

Found multiple bedbugs at 1:30 AM in the room I stayed and the next room my friends stayed. We all had to leave right away. The worst nightmare I've ever had.

This list of discrepancies is long and included; no hot water, carpet stained and dirty, bathroom floor was sticky, area around the tub was dirty, towels were frayed and thin, no wash cloths were provided, bathroom vanity/dresser/tables were dirty, bathroom toilet did not flush properly, and the refrigerator freezer had a 1.5 inch frost buildup. The hospitality breakfast was family size containers with a pile of silverware both used and clean mixed together and cups were dirty. No attendant was in site. Individual serving packages should be the norm. Web page states rooms are newly renovated. "NEW PAINT. NEW FLOOR. NEW KITCHEN. Ours was not. Except to check us in and help with the TV on arrival, no one was available during our stay. We would have checked out the first morning when we discovered there was no hot water, but we were in a hurry to board the MV UChuck. No one was around when we returned. Again no hot water. The Ridgeview Motor Inn response was (synopsis) "I am sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your stay. Made a decision not to refund after discussing with our staff seriously. We follow the refund policy which is fair. You had a 15 % discount for Uchuck guest. Confident that staff/management try to do the best to serve the guests. We cannot change the world to make every guest satisfied 100%. The Motel follows the government guidelines for motel industry. p.s.; Many other guests appreciate our staff and motel when they stayed at the same time with you." Signed by the Owner of the Ridgeview Motor Inn. Note: Other guests may have had a renovated room. 15% was their promotion. They did not address complaints and skirted the issue of cleanliness, lack of hot water, newly renovated, dirty floors, etc. We will return to Gold River but we will drive in and out on the same day.

The rooms were clean and had clean sheets. The beds were OK. There was hot water in the shower. That's about the best I can say for this motel. The breakfast was paltry with limited silverware, so multiple people had to use the same knives. We booked two rooms for 2 different nights, so we actually stayed in 4 rooms. Too bad it's the only motel in town.
