It is always so good to be back. Even on a winter day, the hotel makes you feel comfortable. Relaxing landscape in a very large room, with an excellent bed. Water and chocolates are provided as courtesy. The balcony seems to put you inside the countryside, breath in breath out, and take all the fresh air you can. You can even take a bath while you enjoy the view. Breakfast is sublime. Freshly baked eggs on demand, coffee bar with hand made beverages, pastry and fresh fruit with several local items available. All of this while you glance at the infinite pool. You can even have breakfast outside, if it is not to cold.

We stayed at Sobreiras Alentejo Country Hotel May 2024 for a weeding near by, as a big group with friends and family (about 60 people from UK). Sobreiras staff raised to the expectation and delivered a fantastic weekend with attention to detail, support to guest and great food and ambience. Everyone loved the stay and it is definitely considering coming back for a longer period. Thank you Lucia and all the other staff for taking care of us like you did. 5 starts!

I can not recommend this hotel at all. Lets start with the room: the inside is cheap and worn out and the bathroom dirty. There is no door between the sleeping area and toilet, so not kuch privacy there. Than, the location is really remote. Which would be fine if the amenities are well. But there is literally nothing to do and little to eat at the hotel. Dinner is served at 19.30, which is really late when travelling with small kids. During the day you can order salads from 12.30-15.00 and some toasts till 18.00. That’s it. And the nearest town Grandola is 15 minutes by car, on an unlit road. The common room is very noisy and too small for the amount of guests. So you need to sign up for a breakfast and dinner slot. When waiting for you breakfast there is not even a water kettle and a nespresso machine in the room, which I think are cheap and basic amenities for hotels of these price ranges. Somehow the pool isn’t inviting as well, there is little shadow and feels a bit sterile. All in all, the experience was not good. The hotel really needs to invest in maintenance and some basic amenities like water kettles, nespresso machines, larger common area, more f&b options, atmosphere and maybe think about some more leisure options on the premises. Now its just hostel quality for boutique hotel prices.

This is an unusual hotel pretty much in the middle of nowhere which is part of it’s attraction. The very rough access road leads to a large unsurfaced car park outside the attractive single story buildings of the hotel itself. It needs paved pathways from the car park so cases can be rolled. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. The design is modern and attractive. There is a pleasant pool area and there are tables for eating inside and out. The outlook reminded me of South Africa. Rooms are generally well designed and generous with an outside veranda overlooking the grounds. They are let down by having no door to close off the high speck bathroom and toilet which had a poor quality cheap plastic seat. Breakfast was very good. Lunch less so. Dinner was simple but good. Throughout or stay service was very good.

The views are simply stunning. The feel of the hotel is a contemporary bolt hole in the middle of a national park. The rooms are big and airy with a great outlook. The breakfasts are so so but could be so much better. The evening meal is good value for money. The hotel staff really do lack any enthusiasm or motivation to provide you with any advice or local knowledge. The cleaning staff are the ones who actually engage and seem the happiest. The hotel currently has work on site for future developments. The overall score would be about 7 out of 10 but could with a few improvements could increase.

Very cool space, large rooms with a great balcony, the only thing that needs improvement is the bathroom. Very helpful staff and good breakfast. We had dinner at the restaurant, good price/quality ratio. Experience to be repeated at a warmer time

Very good breakfast. The place very calm. Our daughter loved the park with swings as well as the walks in the countryside. Five star service. The cleaning of the rooms. The bed very comfortable. The only thing to point out is the soundproofing of the rooms, which is not the best.

Great place to relax and recover energy in the middle of the beautiful Alentejo landscape. Good breakfast and very attentive team! The rooms are spacious with views of the plain. Comfort! On hot days the pool helps you relax and cool off!

We had some expectations regarding the hotel and honestly it was a huge disappointment. Terrible management of the entire hotel. Receptionists help with meals and serve drinks, which makes it difficult to provide adequate service in any of the departments. In high season they shouldn't be so restrained in staff costs! Between rooms you can hear EVERYTHING!! We stayed 4 nights and were unlucky enough to have neighbors who seemed to be building outbuildings until 11pm! We who have our baby found it difficult to manage his sleep. Forget the silence of the wonderful Alentejo!! I suggest you invest heavily in soundproofing!! Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired because it takes a long time to be served. I mention again that I think the hotel is not logistically prepared to receive so many people at once! We were really disappointed. A hotel with immense potential and extremely poorly managed. The employees are very friendly and always available but they don't do much more. A positive point is the good quality meals, both the salads and toasts for lunch and dinner.

We were at Sobreiras for 3 days and, wow, what a fantastic experience. There are so many things that I will have to reduce: - rooms (I love the style, simple, full of light, with cork floors, spacious and minimalist rooms... I love it) - pet friendly (we took our dog for the first time and it was super cool to see how much fun you had) - Swimming pool (I read a lot of comments about the water temperature - and I'm weird about the temperature - but it felt so good, with all that heat, that water to cool off. It's just hard to get in... 😁) - Landscape - I love Alentejo and I'm super happy to see an accommodation that keeps the landscape intact, that is ecological in the choices it makes, using the natural resources it has. The wooden sun loungers, the rubbish bins, wooden playgrounds for children and dogs! - Food - I don't even know where to start: we had all our meals at the hotel and I wouldn't change it for anything. The toasts are the best I've ever had in my life (the one with fresh salmon and the one with ham with pesto); the great breakfasts (omelettes, bacon, made to order and with a wonderful flavor); on the first dinner we opted for the Alentejo menu (wow, what good and tasty food), on the second night we opted for the summer menu and we were not disappointed... the food is extremely tasty. Last but not least, a thank you to everyone who served us... from the reception, to the cleaning and catering staff, always with a smile on their faces and friendliness. We already knew we would like it, but this experience exceeded our expectations.

Sobreiras Alentejo Country Hotel was the place chosen to "take the pedal off" and relax for a weekend. Overall, the experience was very positive. The space is beautiful, the staff friendly and the food quality (the most positive point of our stay was the quality of the meals). Just leave a small note regarding the rooms, they didn't "fill" our eyes and honestly they fell far short of expectations. A place like Sobreiras, with countless offers from paddle tennis, tennis, bike rides, music shows (as was the case during this weekend)... it's a shame that it lacks so much in terms of cleaning and sanitizing the rooms. It should be noted that we are in the countryside, extra care is needed when it comes to the condition in which we leave the room for guests. Still, an experience to repeat. Congratulations! Zé and Raquel

Very good experience. Great for resting and recharging your batteries. Very good service, delicious food (breakfast, snacks and dinner), everything very tidy and clean, very good Wi-Fi, electric vehicle charger, free parking, free bicycles, water and welcome cakes in the room, to be repeated …

This is the most peaceful and welcoming hotel imaginable. In the middle of Alentejo, without outside noise or light pollution, you can see the stars and enjoy nature. Rooms with good soundproofing, plenty of TV channels, well equipped and a very comfortable bed. It is worth highlighting the extreme friendliness of the entire staff, always ready to help and clarify doubts. Plenty of outside space for walking or cycling. I recommend.
