Wonderful private reserve with approx. 9000 plants plant species and 6000 native to the area. The chalets are well designed and the overall facilities are perfect foe couples to unwind and relax. Within short distance to see whales breaching. Suggest 2 nights, 3 days to appreciate the surrounds, relax, eat, drink and be merry!

Due giorni perfetti. Dall’accoglienza fino ai saluti finali non c’è stato un momento che non fosse curato alla perfezione. Il forest lodge offre suites elegantissime con ampie terrazze (e la vista è splendida), le attività sono molto interessanti e le guide sanno trasmettere la loro passione per quei luoghi. Lo staff non nega mai un sorriso o un saluto cordiale, il cibo è ottimo. Un grazie particolare a Danika, dolcissima guida.

This place is extraordinary. The accomodation, the service , the environment and the fare are all well above the norm . Indeed the best I have experienced in SA. The executive chef Ben Conradie is an artist. I would return just to experience the food were it not for all the other attractions. Hats of to excellence. There really is no other substitute.

Unbelievable nature experience whilst bathing in luxurious accommodation and enjoying top notch service in all aspects of our stay. We had specific dietary requirements (allergies + Kosher) and the very kind team made everything work perfectly. Activities are all worthwhile, you get a chance to explore a most magnificent part of the country in midst of nature. We will be back! Highly recommended! I would also like to mention Lana and Ruaan amongst others who made sure we are well looked after.

This place is an absolute gem: you are immerse in the stunning nature of the fynbos overlooking the ocean. We stayed three nights in the garden lodge with is more for families: our lodge was spacious and had a wonderful homely feeling with the fireplace, all the little amenities and a bathroom the size of a football pitch. We loved the food at the restaurant always prepared with great care and variety, living up to the experience. The weather wasn't great given that winter was coming to an end so we couldn't do all the activities but nevertheless we enjoyed the place at the full. Anyway, the thing that makes this place really unique for us is the kindness and incredible attention to details of all the staff that really represent the passion and philosophy of the owner.

We went for three nights at the end of July. It was a little chilly but that didn't detract at all. We stayed in the Forest Lodge, room 22. Absolutely stunning - views from every room, immaculate room, fully stocked mini bar (wine, milk, kombucha, gin, beer, coffee, tea), heated floors. So beautiful that you didn't want to leave. Activites - Bongani was our guide for our three days. We did the Flower Safari, Hike, Fat Tire Biking, Horseback Riding. He was spectacular - so knowledgeable and loves his job. DO NOT MISS THE ART GALLERY - phenomenal. Dining Room - All the food was DELICIOUS and the staff was incredible. It ruined us for the rest of our trip in Africa. We especially enjoyed "Rhiana and Kim Kardasian" but my absolute favorite was Nwabisa. She notice the first lunch that I had picked out the green peppers and put them on the side of my plate and then, without saying, made sure I had no green peppers on any future dishes. Now that is attention to detail.

Love this place - it was our second visit with the family! The staff never stops in trying to make you feel special - Juanita organised a great game for the kids when we came back to the room that they absolutely loved! She saw from my daughter’s snickers that they liked pokemon and that was it - great thoughtful gesture! Looking forward to come back to our fav place!

Grootbos was beyond all expectations. The venue itself was magnificent with beautiful views. Our accommodation was 5 star, could not fault a single thing. The lunch, dinner, breakfast we had was superb. The staff were superb. Are only bad point was that we were on able to afford one night being pensioners.... but what a treat. Stunning stunning stunning.

Fabulous location which is made extra special by the team of friendly and professional staff. Everyone seems so happy in their work and goes out of their way to look after the guests. Food is amazing and the activities were all good. Lino guided us through the fynbos and the gallery.
