We had a very nice stay at the Sandbaai Country House. The people looking after us treated us as friends and we had good laughs. The location is stunning with superb views of the ocean.

Location fantastica, struttura meravigliosa affacciata sull'oceano.La ns camera al primo piano con vista meravigliosa su piscina e oceano, si vedono addirittura le balene " sbuffare"! Una menzione particolare alla cortesia dei proprietari Adrian e consorte, ci hanno proposto di farci fare la ns colazione al rientro del tour in barca per avvistamento balene . Siamo tornati dopo le 11 e ci hanno fatto trovare una colazione da Re oltre ad averci permesso di lasciare i ns bagagli in camera. Non e' da tutti! Bravissimi continuate così!!

Wir hatten ein Zimmer gebucht mit 2 großen Doppelbetten, bekommen haben wir ein Zimmer mit einem normalen Doppelbett. Der Fernseher war abmontiert, die Stufen hinauf ins Zimmer waren steil und eng. Die Gegend war eher unsicher und nicht wirklich toll, nur die Aussicht aufs Meer war schön. Es war sauber und ordentlich, das Frühstück war in Ordnung.

We were gifted 3 nights in this stunning guest house by our daughter for our 37th wedding anniversary weekend. We were welcomed warmly by Adriaan on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for him and his wife to make sure we had the best weekend possible. The view from our room as well as from the lounges is amazing. The upstairs area gives a particularly stunning view of the coast. We were able to walk out of our room, across the lawn and onto the boardwalk in a matter of 2 minutes. It is also close to all the places that are worth a visit in the area. A 5 minute drive from the Hemel and Aarde wine route and plenty of excellent restaurants. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with quality bed linen and towels. Breakfast is laid on for all tastes, hot and cold as well as a vegetarian option. We'd love to go back when the weather is a little warmer. Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful weekend!

As travellers with a love for exploration, we decided to pop over for a drink and were welcomed with the genuine warmth of South African hospitality. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. What was intended as a brief visit turned into a delightful, impromptu evening of socialising with the owners and fellow guests. The establishment is under new management, with improvements already underway, yet still maintaining its old-world charm. This grand dame, with her spectacular views stretching across the sea, is a true gem. I’m eager to see how this space will continue to evolve—we’ll definitely be visiting again soon to experience more of the hospitality and soak up some glorious sunsets.
