The hotel itself is clean, warm, and has a good service attitude. It has a large public area and the bed feels soft. Bicycles can be rented at the entrance of the hotel. I feel that Canberra is a very suitable city for cycling. The hotel is located in the administrative district where the Canberra Parliament Building is located, and it is relatively close to the Parliament Building (about 1km on foot?). The hotel room is equipped with disposable slippers, shampoo and shower gel, etc., but not equipped with toothbrush and toothpaste. However, the administrative area on the rest day is really deserted, and there are almost no pedestrians on the street (you can see a lot of people when visiting the Capitol, the National Library, the lake, etc.), and there are fewer options for eating near the hotel.

Having stayed at the Hotel Realm on numerous occasions for business, my latest visit was predictably very good. My room booking was upgraded on arrival which was a nice touch, as was the complementary beverage ticket. The Hotel Realm has served Canberra well over the years but unfortunately it shows in some aspects. Torn and / or worn carpet in a few places detracts from the overall finish and some refurbishment is in order. Also, you need to be aware that it is a little distance from Canberra City proper or the Kingston / Manuka shops and restaurants. All that said, another very good stay. The staff are friendly and the ambience is what you would expect. Recommended.

The hotel is located right near a row of shops, and it's just a short drive away from the city. There is onsite parking for $12 a day, and you will be able to enter and exit the carpark as many times as you like. The staff were extremely helpful with requests and very friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning on visiting Canberra.

Saw the reviews and was not expecting much. I have been surprised to be honest. The reception was helpful, check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean, well equipped and the bed, lovely and soft and we had the best nights sleep. The only gripe was the communal area toilets were grubby but that’s down to dirty people. You get what you pay for and we were comfortable and can only speak of our experience.

Unlike the Park Hyatt in Shanghai, this building is probably only five or six floors tall. It existed a hundred years ago. It looks ordinary from the outside, but it has a very classic feel inside. The overall atmosphere is that everything is just right. low key. The diplomat suite I stayed in had a beautiful stepped deep-soaking bathtub in the bathroom, just like Ctrip's illustration. After talking about these good things, let me talk about some annoying things about this hotel. The smell on the balcony is really outrageous. I don’t know where the smell comes from. It’s neither the smell of the lawn outside nor the smell of the room. The two sofas are really dirty. I don’t want to sit on them. I suggest Don't sit down either. Moreover, the balcony is very narrow and short, which gives people a very cramped feeling and is very uncomfortable. There is no main light in the bedroom, only three small table lamps, which are very dim when they are all turned on, which is simply **. Also, when I turned on the light at night, three or four insects began to circle around the light. The most outrageous thing is that I stayed for three days and two nights. I met probably at least 20 staff members. Only one person smiled at us. The other people felt like robots. When they saw people, they just didn't see them. I walked by expressionlessly, and some people even looked at me as if they had seen a ghost, and their eyes suddenly became serious. I thought, am I just an ordinary adult male who dresses normally and looks normal? I'm thinking that sometimes the cleaners at Home Inn will greet you with a smile when they see you and are in a good mood, right? Then I saw a hotel waiter very enthusiastically leading a female customer who looked like a local to press the elevator. Haha, I will reserve my opinion on whether there is racial discrimination. What I saw is not complete, not good. Nonsense, but if you want Park Hyatt-level service, I hope you can take a shot after reading this article and not be too disappointed. In addition, I have seen many people say that Australian hotels have no service. Every waiter I met at the Ritz-Carlton in Melbourne greeted me with a smile, so I won’t say more. All in all, the hotel as a whole has its own characteristics, but the service is really hard to describe, at least that's what I experienced. I hope you can get better service. This is indeed the best hotel among Canberra hotels. There are no other options. The price is sometimes about one-fifth of the Sydney Park Hyatt. The price is definitely cheaper than other Park Hyatts, but I I suggest you not to have too high expectations of it, at least in terms of service.

My husband and I stayed here last week. I contacted them with my concerns before I wrote this but heard nothing. The bed was so firm/hard! that we both had trouble sleeping it was so uncomfortable and hurting our hips. There was an alleged quilt/doona on the bed which almost had some filling i.e. a casing that was virtually empty, so not at all warm. There was only one spare blanket in the cupboard. Asked the cleaner for another blanket next morning, and went shopping for a mattress topper to soften the bed. ( We had already paid for the following 4 nights. Sadly we won't be staying here next time we visit the area. Also the bbq advertised needs feeding dollars. Remote check in so nobody ever onsite for any problems.

Altogether it is an excellent hotel, with a few minor glitches. When I booked through the hotel I was convinced to take a superior room and was told I would get a view over the countryside, and breakfast included. I got a vied over the street and the sister hotel, with the noisy garbage collection very early one morning and leaf blowers the next. The breakfast one morning was fantastic (I even went and complimented the chef), but the next breakfast was abysmal, I think they ran out of sourdough and served the old tank loaf. The rooms have been beautifully refurbished with all modern conveniences. But you could not open the windows as the window winders were broken, also the bathroom sink had large cracks in it (which reception knew about) and the drainage in it was extremely slow, I think it was ready to block up. You may ask why I didn't ask to change rooms? After a long drive and lugging up lots o luggage, it was the last thing I felt like doing. But I would definitely stay there again the next time I go to Canberra.

We 4 adults shared a 2 bedroom suite on arrival we received a warm welcome from reception staff, . directed to our suite and give keys . This was our first stay at Meriton,we were delighted to enter a spacious light filled airy and very clean apartment, in our opinion our necessary comforts of home away from home. On our arrival and departure our first impression remained, 5 stars! to Yar and Alina at front desk cheers and Thanks, house keeping staff on presentation and cleaning of all items and furniture,Wow! You all set the standard for the hospitality industry

Nice hotel. The decoration is not luxurious but has everything. The design of the atrium and the sky is a bit like a miniature version of Jin Mao Hyatt. The living room is relatively small, and there is not much space to open the sofa bed, but it has its own kitchen and washing machine, which is very convenient for cooking. The bathroom is very big, but the downside is that the bathtub is not slip-resistant and slips easily. The bedroom is very quiet, the balcony glass sliding door is very thick, and the sound insulation is excellent. Parking is quite convenient (to be charged separately), the hotel has not many parking spaces, but you can park in the airport parking lot a step away.

Nice leafy quiet street. Close to light rail. Good secure parking. Reception staff efficient. You can walk to Dickson or Civic if you have a spare 20 mins. Room we had was quite small (especially the shower) so not good for larger people. Beds comfy, but we did not like the pillows (there was only one option). Limited facilities (café downstairs seemed to only make coffee). But as we chose it for its price, quietness and location it met our needs well and overall we would stay again.
