The hotel itself is clean, warm, and has a good service attitude. It has a large public area and the bed feels soft. Bicycles can be rented at the entrance of the hotel. I feel that Canberra is a very suitable city for cycling. The hotel is located in the administrative district where the Canberra Parliament Building is located, and it is relatively close to the Parliament Building (about 1km on foot?). The hotel room is equipped with disposable slippers, shampoo and shower gel, etc., but not equipped with toothbrush and toothpaste. However, the administrative area on the rest day is really deserted, and there are almost no pedestrians on the street (you can see a lot of people when visiting the Capitol, the National Library, the lake, etc.), and there are fewer options for eating near the hotel.

Having stayed at the Hotel Realm on numerous occasions for business, my latest visit was predictably very good. My room booking was upgraded on arrival which was a nice touch, as was the complementary beverage ticket. The Hotel Realm has served Canberra well over the years but unfortunately it shows in some aspects. Torn and / or worn carpet in a few places detracts from the overall finish and some refurbishment is in order. Also, you need to be aware that it is a little distance from Canberra City proper or the Kingston / Manuka shops and restaurants. All that said, another very good stay. The staff are friendly and the ambience is what you would expect. Recommended.

The choice of this hotel was also decided after reading the strategy and comprehensive consideration. This is not available in ordinary hotels; the room is very quiet, and I don’t think the sound insulation is bad (maybe it’s off-season?), the hotel’s hygiene is very good, the room supplies are very clean, and slippers, toothbrushes and other accessories are not necessary. But the hotel provides it free of charge according to the needs of the guests, and you can ask for it at the front desk. The downside is that the light in the guest room is too dark (the patrons are pursuing a sense of design), and guests need to look bright! Also, all the door touches in the guest room don't work well.

After talking about these good things, let me talk about some annoying things about this hotel. The smell on the balcony is really outrageous. I don’t know where the smell comes from. It’s neither the smell of the lawn outside nor the smell of the room. The two sofas are really dirty. I don’t want to sit on them. I suggest Don't sit down either. Moreover, the balcony is very narrow and short, which gives people a very cramped feeling and is very uncomfortable. There is no main light in the bedroom, only three small table lamps, which are very dim when they are all turned on, which is simply **. Also, when I turned on the light at night, three or four insects began to circle around the light. The most outrageous thing is that I stayed for three days and two nights. I met probably at least 20 staff members. Only one person smiled at us. The other people felt like robots. When they saw people, they just didn't see them. All in all, the hotel as a whole has its own characteristics, but the service is really hard to describe, at least that's what I experienced. I hope you can get better service. This is indeed the best hotel among Canberra hotels. There are no other options. The price is sometimes about one-fifth of the Sydney Park Hyatt. The price is definitely cheaper than other Park Hyatts, but I I suggest you not to have too high expectations of it, at least in terms of service.

Stayed 3 nights in a standard queen room. The room was nice, although a bit dark as I was on the ground floor with a small window facing the hotels covered entrance. The bed was very soft, maybe too soft for some. The bathroom with walk in shower was compact but functional. The hotel is close the main attractions, with free secure onsite parking. Kingston shops are close by with many nice cafes and supermarket. It has a fully mini bar in the room but I found the prices too high, $9 for a bottle of beer, so I Didnt use it. I got a great rate for my stay.

This was a one night stay in Canberra as I had a medical appointment nearby the next day. Check in was relatively quick and easy, the staff explained the hotel facilities and then we headed up to the room. Once we got to the room, it was quite pleasant albeit a bit dimly lit. As it was a weekend, that meant their restaurant was closed, that posed no problems as in the foyer there's the Pantry, an area that has a limited selection of items ranging from frozen meals, to chips and chocolates. The microwave was a bit tricky to operate but once I got the hang of it, we had a quiet dinner and settled in for the night. As we'd been given vouchers for breakfast the next morning (allowing one drink and one food item - something we weren't told) we dropped in to their restaurant to have breakfast. I picked the apple cinnamon pancakes and later a bowl of Granola. Once the items were brought to the table, I noticed that the pancakes were almost submerged in maple syrup!!! I thought I was going to be brought a small jug of syrup to add as I wished, but to have them ”swimming” in syrup ... not a good look!. The bowl of Granola was rather tasty with yoghurt and fruit topping it. As we left, we presented our vouchers, to be told it covers one food and drink item, leaving a small charge at the end. So to backtrack and rate the hotel itself: The room was quite nice, beds were narrow and comfy, the bathroom spacious but the shower only has a glass panel that only covers half of the shower you'll need to keep it within that half or risk flooding the bathroom .. The hotel is rather nice, but will we stay here again? More than likely not, no fault of the hotel or staff ... just not our style...

Saw the reviews and was not expecting much. I have been surprised to be honest. The reception was helpful, check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean, well equipped and the bed, lovely and soft and we had the best nights sleep. The only gripe was the communal area toilets were grubby but that’s down to dirty people. You get what you pay for and we were comfortable and can only speak of our experience.

Altogether it is an excellent hotel, with a few minor glitches. When I booked through the hotel I was convinced to take a superior room and was told I would get a view over the countryside, and breakfast included. I got a vied over the street and the sister hotel, with the noisy garbage collection very early one morning and leaf blowers the next. The breakfast one morning was fantastic (I even went and complimented the chef), but the next breakfast was abysmal, I think they ran out of sourdough and served the old tank loaf. The rooms have been beautifully refurbished with all modern conveniences. But you could not open the windows as the window winders were broken, also the bathroom sink had large cracks in it (which reception knew about) and the drainage in it was extremely slow, I think it was ready to block up. You may ask why I didn't ask to change rooms? After a long drive and lugging up lots o luggage, it was the last thing I felt like doing. But I would definitely stay there again the next time I go to Canberra.

From the first moment you walk into the room, the musty smell hits you like a brick! The room we had was very small, but that didn’t bother us at all. It was the stagnant, stale air and the unmistakable smell of a very old hotel room, which once-upon-a-time was inhabited by smoking guests. I tried without success to open a window - I was desperate for some fresh air! On night two of our stay, after returning from a full day out exploring Canberra, I was astonished to see that housekeeping had replaced our towels, but not bothered to make the bed, empty the rubbish bin or vacuum the floor! This property is described as 4-star on the Best Western website, I have no idea how they are able to claim this rating! The breakfast selection can only be described as bare minimum, but the most disturbing thing about the breakfast “buffet” was how messy the entire area was! We found crumbs and pieces of rubbish scattered on each of the tables holding the food. Needless to say, we took a hard pass on the breakfast! The only positive I have to offer about our experience at this hotel is that the water pressure in the shower was very good.

We 4 adults shared a 2 bedroom suite on arrival we received a warm welcome from reception staff, . directed to our suite and give keys . This was our first stay at Meriton,we were delighted to enter a spacious light filled airy and very clean apartment, in our opinion our necessary comforts of home away from home. On our arrival and departure our first impression remained, 5 stars! to Yar and Alina at front desk cheers and Thanks, house keeping staff on presentation and cleaning of all items and furniture,Wow!
