Hotel Marina

We stayed on a sweetdeal that we got from family member. Honestly we did not expect much - but to relax for a few days with another couple. Since we went during winter the surroundings did not really matter - but honestly it is a boring place for a hotel. The hotel is very provincial 1970 style - inside maybe a little younger.. but still cheap and boring. Our room was small. Had a closet stating "mini bar" - but was lacking the fridge inside. The bathroom had been painted on top of the tiles - pretty bad idea - the paint was coming off. The shower was full of mildew at both the curtain and the painted tiles. There were hair on the walls from the previous inhabitants - pretty disgusting. We were told that the towels were to last for both days of our stay and to be used at the indoor pool area as well - how is that possible? The included dinner was average - but they changed premium downtown bar prices. 60 dkk for a 0.5l. standard beer. The reception and bar closes at 22 on week days and 21 at weekends - unbelievable. The breakfast was enough to live from, but honestly pretty tame - have you ever tried to eat a soft boiled egg with a single use plastic spoon in a plastic egg cup? That is simply not doable. We decided not to stay the second night - and head home in stead. On top of the deal, we paid an extra environmental charge pr. person pr. day (funny as there is no environment and no service of changing towels or any extra at all) and a surcharge for weekend (where the service is lower than on weekdays). Oh - and they tried to change us for upgrade rooms on check out - scammers... (I wonder how the non upgraded rooms look like?) I would never recommend anybody to take a deal or even stay here anyway. The standard is simply to low compared to the price you have to pay.

Rooms were freezing, walls really thin (could basically hear the conversation next door) and bathroom in a poor condition. Staff was lovely and location great if you want to stay close to the sea.

Nice hotel. Good breakfast. Very friendly staff. There is plenty of parking in front of the hotel. The beds are very comfortable. The room is more modest, but provides basic necessities. I recommend the hotel, I would definitely come again.
