All Staff very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Room - Big red stain and dirty carpet. Bathroom - mould around bath, water marks on every wall especially around toilet Evening meal - due to member of our group staying in the accomodation that allows dogs we booked a table, upon arrival we were told we would need to sit outside which we didnt have a problem with, but not so happy to find out that this area was the outside smoking area in the carpark. Breakfast - Sausages cold and tasteless, Bacon fatty and eggs like rubber. Obviously wont be returning and booked out a day early

Wonderful hotel. Of course there are lots of weddings going on, but that's what Gretna is famous for, but even though we were here as apart of a wedding party it was wonderful. The breakfast team were fantastic and very helpful. The girls on reception were more than brilliant, we're not from the area and had a few questions but they were fantastic. I think the one receptionist was fairly new, but she was very friendly and helpful. We're only sorry we didn't get the breakfast staff's names to say thank you to them, however thank you to the breakfast staff and thank you to Joanne and Jasmin at reception.

We were at a family wedding and the stay was great. The bathrooms need a bit updating but overall it was a great stay. It was raining on the morning of the wedding but umbrellas were available. The staff were very attentive so overall a great stay

Very nice hotel overall. Naturally of course there are lots of weddings going on, but that's what Gretna is famous for, but even for a business traveller was a good location to stop for a couple of nights. Lovely room, food, service and all round very nice place to stay

Nice hotel, had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Room was nice but needed some attention to detail. Fire in the room wasn't working or i couldn't find the switch!
Door to the hotel corridor slammed on the second floor, so heard it every time someone used it. Some damping on the frame would solve the problem.

Room was cold, hotel was cold, bathroom was dirty. Wall near towel radiator was filthy with dirty watwr marks all down it. Not worth the money for value. Food was ok and staff were friendly. Its basically had a facelift on the front but is still in the 80s inside with ni working lift either.

We married on 20th May, stayed in cottage No. 6 at Smiths. Brilliant stay, 3 nights. Beds comfy, rooms clean.1 Food at Smiths was excellent. The staff from top to bottom we so helpful, gracious, kind, chatty and friendly and could not do enough...bar 1. The staff over at The Bla Smiths also great, nothing too much trouble, our day was magical. We were checking out on the morning off the 22nd. Scottish receptionist, Amanda or Joanne was her name...what a misery, unfriendly, no smiles, nothing! What a shame we had to leave on a bad note. Gill and Mike Matthews.

Well not a nice experience . The weather was so nice but the lunch experience less so. No greeting smile or eye contact on arrival although passed a number of times by members of staff. Waited over 20 mins to be offered drinks ..and longer for menus. Food came ..however the gentleman was engaging and spent time with us. The food ..I have to say this has to be the worst ceaser salad I have ever had ..not if you are a rabbit..overload of lettuce ..chicken was tough ..and no parmasan at all ... What an expense for a simple dish. My partners pie wasn't hot either.. Oh we were brought our soft drinks in pint glasses..! Will not be lunching again .. Pity . Nice environment, but no life or love felt.
