The boss is very warm and hospitable. The hotel is very close to the station and the facilities nearby are complete.

I had a great time staying at Hotel Caprice for 5 days. The hosts (Alex and his family) were excellent at ensuring that I was comfortable. They provided excellent breakfast and tips on local activities. This hotel is also extremely close to the bus stop (2 min walk) which made it very easy to get around to in Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen valley, etc. This hotel also has multiple types of saunas that allowed for relaxation in the evenings after busy outings during the day.

This is a three star family run hotel. Excellent property and the owners and their whole family is very helpful. My suggestion is to spend a bit more and get the larger room with a view of the mountains. Worth every dollar. The breakfast is included and is very good. We really enjoyed our stay. Just a couple of things to keep in mind. It is a steep walk from the train station to the hotel. My understanding is that there if needed the owners will pick you up. There are no elevators in the building and so not ideal if you have mobility issues. A couple of suggestions to make the hotel even more outstanding. Please consider putting a hot water kettle in the rooms. A fan during hot summer days will be welcome. This is a really outstanding property. Away from the noise and bustle of hotels around the station with amazing views

We loved this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone! The location of this hotel is perfect - its very close to the station but its in a quiet area. Its also super close to the main st in town and the grocery store so you can walk everywhere. The walk to the hotel is a bit steep but its not crazy and u can def roll your suitcase up to it. The rooms and the entire hotel is extremely clean and the view from our room was just breathtaking. Alex the owner is amazing! He will give you honest and helpful answers to all your ques. If we could go back and spend more time here we would do it.

Wonderful small hotel with amazing views and excellent service. We had a spacious room that was clean and practical. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking right at the hotel (once you figure out how to wind your way up the steep hill). It is within easy walking distance of the main shopping area and restaurants in Grindelwald. I would come here again. Also, don't miss the breakfast!

We stayed at this property for 2 nights booking 2 rooms last December. We arrived early and was told that the room were not ready. So we parked our car at the back of their property. Parking spaces were limited, be sure to prebook with them in advance. This boutique hotel was pretty charming and has views overlooking the mountain and the city. The hotel do not have lift so you have to take your luggage to the room by yourself. It is also located near to the Grindewald train station, very convenient for those who want to hit the mountain early. The room itself was pretty basic, clean and comfortable, with a small balcony. The bathroom was a little bit small but manageable. The breakfast spread was good, with the essential eggs, bread, fruits, milk, coffee. There are two areas that we think might improve the overall enjoyment for future guests. We found that the people who run the breakfast (I guess maybe the owner) was a little cold and did not put a smile on their faces. The two nights that we were there, the people downstair (i guess maybe the owner) were very loud talking and laughing until pretty late at night. We also booked for their outdoor hot bath, and it was an experience in itself. However, the area for the outdoor hot bath was not secluded and thus lacked privacy. The lady (also the reception and the breakfast runner too) who helped us set up the outdoor bath was really helpful, nice and engaging. She was a star. Overall, it was a great value staying at this property. Keep up the good work.

Upon arrival at the Grindelwald station, we hiked the hill with our small luggage, which took approximately 3 minutes and the check in was quiet smooth. Our room (226) is spacious and well appointed with traditional Swiss style furniture. Bathroom has a standing shower with good water pressures. The balcony with two lounge chairs has s Panama view of the town and mountains. The family run hotel is very cozy and everyone we encounter were courteous and friendly. We are glad that we chose this cozy hotel, the close proximity to the train station and plenty of restaurants in the town area. We have had great rest for the past two nights, which is essential after visiting various must see sights. We still have one more night to go before heading to Lucerne and we expecting another great night stay. Further, it’s really comfortable in the middle of September temperatures wise and sitting by the balcony having a locally brewed lager viewing the beauty of Eiger is a must.

Hotel Caprice is a traditional Swiss, family-run hotel. It’s in a great location, close to (and up a short, steep hill from) the Grindewald Railway Station. We had no problems with noise. The husband and wife team, and their staff, are friendly and helpful. We had a deluxe mountain-view double room, which had plenty of space, an excellent bathroom and a verandah with a great view of the mountains. It was hot weather when we visited, so the room was uncomfortably warm at night, but the owners lent us a fan and that did the trick. The pillows took a bit of getting used to as well. They were big and thin and needed to be doubled over for a good height. The breakfast room on the 1st Floor was lovely and had a great view. The breakfast was good too. With the Aussie Dollar exchange rate poor with Swiss Francs, the value of the tariff wasn’t too-good though. It worked out to be $600+ a night. Yes, the convenience and comfort factor would be better if the rooms had aircon, a small fridge and tea & coffee making facilities, but the listing clearly shows the hotel rooms do not have these, so I don’t understand why people complain about it in some reviews. The only glitch we had was that we had arranged with the owners to pick us up from the station with our luggage but that didn’t eventuate, so we had to drag our cases up the steep hill to the hotel in 28C degree heat. It wasn’t fun, but we forgave them :)

This hotel was very cute and comfortable. We had an Eiger view room with a patio. It was gorgeous and spacious. The bathroom was new with excellent water pressure. The spa downstairs is really nice and included with the room rate. The gym is tiny (1 person workout room), but there wasn’t anyone in there when we stayed. The hot tub was very nice. The walk up to the hotel is very steep, but the view is worth it.

Perfect in every way. We didn’t want to leave. The lady cation of the hotel was right next to the train station, but far enough away from any noise. The family room was large, with walk in storage. One thing that struck us every night when we came back was the freshness of the room, it was immaculate. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the owner was so pleasant and chatted to us every morning at breakfast. We will definitely be back to Grindelwald, and certainly back to this hotel. Seriously cannot recommend this place enough. It made our holiday. Thank you.

Not only is the hotel perfectly located, everything had a personal touch from checkin to the room to the service. A family-ran hotel, the breakfast is exactly what you need for a day on the mountain. The spa at the end of the day makes it even better. The atmosphere here made my getaway perfect!

The staff at this hotel is the friendliest, and most helpful I have ever interacted with. I immediately felt welcomed, like I was family, not a guest. My room was clean, charming, and very inviting. Alexander the owner, spent a relaxing time telling me about the area, and made a reservation for a wonderful Raclette meal close by. The hotel is very close to the train station, and main street, but quiet, and removed from the noise and hustle. Perfect!!

This is a classic Swiss hotel with very clean accommodations beautiful views, and excellent breakfast service. Staying in Grindelwald provided a location in which to access many of the gorgeous mountain sites and hikes in the area. We really enjoyed sitting on our little porch to enjoy the views.

Conveniently located near train station, and a short walk to the mountain cable car to Grindelwald First, COOP supermarket. Single room feels bigger in person. Useful bedside USB-A outlets to charge your devices so you won't need a plug converter, which is a huge plus. Decent sized desk and seat are comfy enough to do some light remote work.
