Very nice hotel in the small town, facilities are beautiful and breakfast is very good. Great location to go on a night walk to watch the northern lights.

I have never stayed in such a rubbish hotel! The hotel knew that the hot water system was broken but did not tell us, so we had no hot water to take a shower at night in the temperature close to zero; the bed covers were smelly! They were used by the previous guests and were not replaced at all; there was no elevator and you had to carry your luggage to the 2nd or 3rd floor. If you wanted the Indian at the front desk to help you carry it, he would just stand there and ask for a tip; the hotel was opened by Indians and there was an Indian at the front desk. Not only was there no one at the front desk at night, but the hygiene conditions were ridiculous!

Everything is good except there is no elevator. The room is on the 2nd floor. It's a bit difficult to carry your bags up as the road up is quite narrow.

The room was perfectly fine. The hotel was clean except for maybe a little orange mold at the bottom of the shower. We had everything we needed. I didn't realize it was a hotel with no real service. There was no one there at the desk you got your key. There were two people in the morning setting up the buffet breakfast but mostly they head in the back. There's not much around so I guess this would be a good place to stay but we paid almost $400 a night and I thought that was excessive. Once my expectations were managed, is a perfectly fine place. I thought there was dinner but there was no one around so we just walked down the street to harbour Cafe which was perfectly delicious. I did not know how isolated the peninsula was we almost ran out of gas! Do not try to get there on a half tank.!!

I stayed in the hotel on 4 August. Room 101. While I understand your hotel is only basic and yes it is clean & functional. However, a few things they could improve: 1. There is tea bags & coffee BUT no milk or coffee whitener and no spoon or stick for stirring sugar. Only small things but don’t cost much . 2. NO SOAP - there was no soap in the squeeze container on the wall on the shower - so I got out and went to the wash basin and got just 2 drops out before it became empty. Not happy about that. These things are easy to fix & not expensive. Yes it’s not a fancy hotel but looking after the basics might change my rating from 2 star to 3 star . This visit - I can only give it a 2 star rating & disappointed with my room.

A little place by the inner harbor, a few minutes drive to the mountain and waterfall. Small but clean and comfy rooms. Breakfast area was nice, modern, and clean with the typical European breakfast options. Only negatives were: *They were the only hotel in Iceland (out of 5) that did not email us prior to arrival to confirm our reservations and provide other information. I even emailed them twice before we left the US to reconfirm and they never responded. *As another stated, there was no one at reception when we arrived around 8pm. Our keys were left at front desk, but no information on where to park. Out front had 4 or 5 spaces but all were taken. I tried calling the number left at the front desk but no one answered. I pulled around back of hotel and hoped for the best. Turns out that was OK. *No one at desk for check out, just left the keys in a bowl. It just felt odd not seeing anyone at the reception desk for either check in or out. If you need a clean, quiet place to stay in the area it gets the job done.

I have seen some whiny reviews about the hotel and I am writing this to respond. If you are looking for a spa, go somewhere else. This a good place to stay in the Snaefellsnes area; a base camp for sleeping and showering while exploring area. The room was small but comfortable and the management was very accommodating. A few small quibbles. There is no elevator so pack light and parking is a bit of a problem.

I didn't actually stay here - word of warning for those considering....I had a reservation for July, 2023 and needed to cancel it at the cancellation deadline due to an unexpected change in plans. I emailed and phoned the hotel repeatedly (tried two different numbers); when they finally answered the phone after 5+ hours of trying over the course of 2 days I was assured that I could cancel without penalty and was asked to forward my earlier email for their records. I did so and got no response despite my request for confirmation. You guessed it - my card was charged despite their assurances and I'm now stuck trying to reach them again to reverse the charges. I've never before encountered a hotel that seemed so determined to be unreachable!

This hotel was our last night in Iceland. We had been there 11 night and stayed in 3 other places. We paid close, but not more at any other place we stayed. This was by far the worst room and not a great location either.

It is a low-end budget hotel. The room was small and with noise from the street. The sun affected the room, due this the room was hot (no aircondition to cool down the room ). No elevator to the upstairs rooms and be aware the climbing stairs then can be an issue e.g to carry heavy luggage The staff were very friendly and helpful - the breakfast was general as other hotels in Iceland

Really good sized very clean room, great shower, nice breakfast, good location, parking and all for a good price (by Icelandic standards!). We could see Kirkjufell from our room. Definitely recommend.

This hotel was very nice. The rooms were comfortable and very quiet at night. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a bit eclectic. The owner has various interests. There were photos of Neil Armstrong on the walls, because Neil Armstrong was there when training to walk on the moon and his family has been back for reunions. The astronauts used this specific location to train because there is an area near there that resembles what they would find on the moon, and if you drive around there you will see for yourself. Great area to roam around or just sit and enjoy the views. I went in June and the weather was cool but pleasant.

Very comfortable bed but outdated bathroom and no hot water in the evening. No one at reception in the evening...or in the morning for that matter... In short, a rather mixed experience. Upstairs room, no elevator, so if you are a woman with a big suitcase.. think about it

Discreet hotel (without elevator) with a price that in any other country in the world would be a luxury hotel and in Iceland (perhaps the country with the most expensive hotels on the planet) it is a mediocre inn. At least it has a small bathroom in the room and you can make yourself a coffee when you wake up. Breakfast is average. No pastries and only offers hard-boiled eggs
