Decided to stay at a 5* hotel as it was my birthday. Room was smaller than expected and the check in lady said room was upgraded which didn’t appear to be as room appeared to be basic. As it was my bday i asked the hotel if they had anything complimentary for someone celebrating their bday to which she said fruit platter then added some dim sum..acceptable but would be nice if they arranged without me asking.
Hotel is a bit old and they were renovating so very noisy during day. The breakfast was very good as had good variety of food. Location is also convenient as 2 mins from metro.
Reception is big but not enough seats
All in all would hv expected something more for a 5* hotel

The location is fantastic, right outside the subway station. The hotel itself is excellent – great environment, very clean, and superb service. Honestly, I can't find a single fault. I stayed for two nights and it was incredibly comfortable and quiet. Overall, I had a wonderful experience.

Check-in is very troublesome. Staff is very rude in reception. There must be a construction or very high noise in the early morning making you almost impossible to sleep. Too much humidity inside hotel. Reception is asking for too much deposit.

Baiyun Hotel is a historic hotel in Guangzhou. The service was excellent during my stay. While the facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained. The butler thoughtfully brought afternoon tea, and the pool was clean – very nice! They even gave us a discount on our tea the next day. Overall, I'm satisfied and would stay here again!

The hotel's location is fantastic – just two subway stops from Guangzhou Station, and right outside the subway exit. Public transportation is also very convenient. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and even upgraded our room. It was clean, hygienic, and had good soundproofing. There's a direct connection to a shopping mall, and plenty of great food options nearby. I'll definitely choose Baiyun Hotel again next time I'm in Guangzhou.
