Guangzhou Big Eye Youth Hostel (Zhujiang New Town Branch) Reviews

This one is a little bit strange. Manager is nice and the place was comfortable. Is just was a little bit different place than in description. But it is related only to the time period, when i am writing this. Hostel having some issues. It probably going to solve it. Anyway i contacted the manager and get the nice stay for a few days in the center of guangzhou. With a lot of interesting people and discussions with them inside. I would not attach photos of interiors. Because again, location was a little bit different, rooms too. And it's probably some temporary solution.

It's a place to hang out with real Chinese guys :) Good to discover the city. The place themself was difficult to find.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my stay here. The only good thing about it is that it's near the subway station but the bed sheets have a foul smell. It doesn't look hygienic. The landlord is also very loud in the morning. Her mouth is like a machine gun. It's very inconvenient to enter the building as well because you have to wait for someone else to come in since a resident ID card is needed to be able to enter the building. That card can't be provided to those people who are only staying for a few nights. So, I decided to move to another place after 2 nights because I couldn't bear the environment here.

Please don't book this worst hostel. I had a bad experience in my past 11 years of China visits. I never faced such a problem . no service . Dirty room , Dirty toilet for 16 guests. Small rooms . You will remember forever that you have slept in GARBAGE HOSTEL . I booked a 2 day stay from India and paid the full amount . Only one night slept. Then the next day I returned to the hostel after finishing my work I was surprised to see my LANGUAGE and all the other Baggage stood in the hostel thrown outside the main door ( like Garbage.) . I lost a rice cooker, old mobile, my 2 shirts , New shoes and one day hostel amount.

I came for canton fair, the prices of hotels were so high, this was a very affordable option and not very far from Canton fair, cannot complain

Very sophisticated treatment and at the highest level. All services are available. Excellent location. The staff strives to meet all needs. I invite everyone to try this hotel

The apartment was very difficult to find and the owner was extremely difficult to deal with. He was impatient and abrupt. The apartment STUNK of rotten banana peels as no one seems to empty the bins in days. The bathroom was filthy and I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible the next morning. Location is great but DO NOT STAY HERE. Worth paying slight more for a better hotel.

Do yourself a favour don't stay here. It's a dorm room not hostel and is poorly managed

Very hard to find. Nobody speaks english. After calling the owner several times he came down and found me, that was very kind! In the morning starting from 8 am 2 guys in the dorm had a fight and were screaming at each other for 2 hours until I left. The bed was okay. If you are looking for a cheap please it's ok, but don't have any expectations.

The place is close to the metro and is cheap. Other than I'm finding it hard to say anything positive about this place. First of all, this place is hard to find even if you have a GPS. You will likely not find it unless you call them. Even if you somehow manage to locate the place, going in and out of the building is troublesome. Access is restricted to the residents of the building and if there is no one to let you in, you will have to tailgate someone just to enter. Secondly the place is not clean. I can't tell if they changed the sheets from the previous person who stayed there. I read a review here of someone who mentioned there is no hot water, or AC. This is true. I don't know if they only have it at certain times of the day but I never got to take a shower. They have an Air Conditioning but no remote to turn it on, so it is as good as not having it. I have been to many cities in China, and I can tell you this is by far the worst place I've stayed in so far. I know this place is cheap and you get what you pay for. However I feel this place will benefit from the owners having a customer centric mindset which I felt it lacked at least for me.

The beds were too short, couldn’t fit. The beds did not have any mattress, just a thin fabric type thing, the shower area had the Eastern toilet in it

Very good location near downtown service is excellent

Conveniently located. Good place for low budget, solo travelers.
