The room should be newly renovated, the bedding is very comfortable and clean, although the bathroom is shared, it is very clean and has plenty of hot water. It is very close to the departure point for the Gudvangen tour boat.

This hotel is nice, clean, well-equipped, and in a good location. The kitchen is good, the sleep is very comfortable, and the hot water for bathing is large and sufficient. The staff has a good service attitude and is warm and polite.

This is the original hotel to the town. It is a lovely old (renovated) hotel. The front staff was most helpful and charming. We had a corner room with private bath. The room was small but had what we needed and the bathroom was big and very nice. The bed was very comfortable. There is parking if you are driving.

We needed to stay overnight in Gudvangen during our recent trip to Norway before next morning Naeroyfjord cruise. For tourists travelling without a car, the choice of accommodation here is very limited to Fjordtell Hotel, Gudvangen Budget Hotel and possibly a campsite about 1.5 km away. All of them expensive. We settled for the Budget Hotel for one night. Being a budget hotel, we had some concerns of what to expect, especially when we got a notification to check in at the Fjordtell. The Budget Hotel proved to be an excellent choice. What a nice surprise! The room was spacious, had private bathroom, TV and a kitchenette. There was also a nice patio with two chairs to sit and admire the view. Staying for such a short time we did not take advantage of the kitchen, but for a little longer stays it could be handy, and there is a store nearby. Gudvangen is a very small town and not much to see here except Viking Village. But the great scenery and general remoteness feel is very unique and worth spending night there. The bathroom was a bit small, but not an issue. The bed was comfortable. Overall great choice. Highly recommended.

Gudvangen budget hotel is ideal for a layover if you have a fjord cruise the next day. Our room in the badger hotel was very simple and very clean, there is a sink in the room and a coffee station. A very clean sharing toilet is available on the floor. In the area there is a petrol station, coffee shops, restaurants and an amazing view. We stayed here in August and even if this is a budget hotel the price vastly not so budgeting. Please note that the check in desk is near the pier in building with the souvenir shop and the restaurant.

Quite basic but very clean and well serviced hotel. We were a bit concerned beforehand about the shared toilets/shower thing, but this proved to be groundless. The shared facilities, like the rooms, were kept very clean and other guests were very discreet and equally mindful too. A bonus was the free use of the washing machine and tumble dryer; very much appreciated. The Budget Hotel is owned by the Fjordtell down on the waterfront, in fact they seem to own the whole complex, with all food options shared and very nice. We’re glad we stayed where we did; cheaper but no less cleanliness or room facilities. An enjoyable two night stay and a very good base for Gudvangen/Flam.

Loved the traditional feel of the hotel. An old place, which has been updated. I had a pleasant en suite room, very clean, excellent crisp white bedding and towels. A fridge in the corridor and a kettle in the room. Meals are not provided but can be taken at nearby Fjordtell. Quiet and peaceful. Perfect for me! Would love to stay there again. Nice sitting under laburnum tree in garden at the end of the day.
