Sholeo Lodges Los Gigantes

Hotel is close to the sea which I value so much. Short walking distance to a black beach and street full of restaurants and stores. The staff was attentive and friendly and made sure I had a nice stay with them. I’d like to give special thanks to Wilmer who truly went above and beyond for me. He personally made sure everything was in order and that I was happy during my stay, so thanks again Wilmer! The room was exceptional; quite spacious with smart AC, light up mirror in the bathroom, a big TV and comfy beds. I especially liked the pillows, long and perfectly balanced between soft and firm. Restaurant/cafeteria had some great options wether it was for dinner or just a snack. By the pool there are some fat boy chairs, beanbags and hammocks which make lounging there 11/10. Behind the hotel there are even more of those chairs as well as a play area and a free water fountain for guests, which is a nice touch. All in all I truly reccomend the hotel as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back in the future!
Gran Melia Palacio de Isora

This was our 7th time of returning to the resort - that figure alone says how much we love this place! The facilities are what you would expect of a 5-star resort - it’s the staff and the service they provide which keep us coming back, year after year. Special thanks this year go to the Red Level for Families Team - Rosana, Naomi, and Alicia. They help us in the week before our arrival with advance requests and bookings. Then, when we’re at the resort, they are our angels in disguise taking care of our every need. We wouldn’t holiday without them! The Red Level for Families breakfast team were great. Jorge, Beatriz, and Kare looked after us wonderfully as always. For Jorge in particular, this is our 5th year with him - his big smile and infectious happiness start the day off in a perfect way. Oscar, the Head Chef, made some amazing character pancakes for our boys! At the Oasis Bar, Jacob is our bartender extraordinaire! Nothing is too much trouble for him, even going above and beyond by bringing our orders to our Bali Bed when the service from the Pool Concierge Team wasn’t as we would have expected from previous years. He made sure we had relaxing days where we were very much taken care of. Thank you Jacob! Our experience on the Bali Beds didn’t start so well. Management have changed the way they are serviced and it means that they are now looked after by Pool Concierge and not the Oasis Bar staff. However, there aren’t yet enough staff members at Pool Concierge meaning each individual staff member now has to look after far too many Bali Beds and the service sometimes suffered because of this. Charging a premium but then not delivering a premium service didn’t work for us. Despite this, and after we’d raised our concerns, Aaron, Leonardo and Fernando did their absolute best and were really good. Our feedback to Management is that more staff need to be hired or you need to go back to having the Oasis Bar Staff servicing the Bali Beds like in previous years. It was so lovely to see German on the Terrace Bar. In previous years he has looked after us on the Bali Bed, so he’s always been a special member of staff for us. The team at Diversion once again took us out on an amazing scuba dive. This was our 4th time diving with them. Our boys started with lessons in the infinity pool and then have progressed over the years to sea dives. The next step will be for them to do a PADI qualification which they can also do with Diversion! Their passion for scuba diving shines through. Their care and attention mean we always feel safe with them. A final note for the DJ who plays on the Terrace on a Tuesday and Thursday. He was the DJ the first time we came back in 2018 and we loved him then. We were absolutely gutted that his contract wasn’t renewed for a few years, so we were delighted when he was back this year. He is very talented and creates an amazing atmosphere on the Terrace at sunset! Please keep him for many more years to come.
The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama

My Mum and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for 4 nights as part of her birthday celebration and it was perfect! The rooms are so comfortable and the bedding is sublime! The team who work there are so fantastic - nothing is too much trouble and ever so helpful. There are beautiful towels by the pool which don’t slip down and you get two as standard so not everything is wet when you get out! There is even suncream at the pool so you don’t have to bring your own! Wifi is brilliant throughout the hotel. Cocktails are beautiful, about 17-18 euros each but worth every penny! Absolutely delicious. My only criticism was the lack of food choices in the hotel by the pool - not a huge amount to choose from, very fish based (I don’t eat fish) and the service was a little slow for drinks but that could be the time of year. But there was fabulous popcorn cones and fruit kebabs which were shared in the morning which was great. When planning you’re trip, just be aware that there is nothing around without a taxi from this hotel - there’s some lovely local places nearby but you will need to get in a taxi. The beach area is incredibly well set up - the little train takes you there, there’s a full bar and restaurant, toilets, suncream and sun loungers. Overall it was a brilliant stay and would recommend the hotel for sure - would be even better once the refurbishments are done and there are a few more pools and the restaurant with a view is open again! Thanks for a lovely stay!
