Stayed in the Accessible room. The room felt a bit sparse. Two chairs would have been nice (only one provided). In fairness, the room may be kept sparse for people in wheelchairs, but there was so much space I think a second chair could easily fit in. The best thing: The bed was very comfortable. Nice pillows, nice Manchester. I slept very well. Also, the shower was very good. The worst thing: The room did not lock. You could just push on the French doors and it would open. There was a chain on the inside so we felt safe at night but we could not leave our valuables inside and go out. This was very inconvenient. Instead of going to dinner, we had to get take away (to minimise the time that our belongings were unlocked). We went for a long run in the morning and had to pack the car first, to ensure our belongings were safe. I’m sure Gundagai is a safe town but I don’t like paying $200 a night to not have peace of mind. And finally… I called as soon as I arrived (around 8pm) to register my complaint about the lock but was only called back the following morning. Too late to solve anything for me. It is a lovely building with a lovely view (if you have a front facing room), but the studio rooms facing the back are not worth the money. Particularly if they don’t lock up!
