I stayed here for a night with my partner and my best friend in March. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with very friendly staff and a much needed cool drink. The rooms were very comfortable, the views were amazing, the staff were very accommodating and food was incredible. It is about 10mins from the Kandy CBD but I highly recommend this place if you’re in Kandy.

Just loved getting here as it really made us appreciate the secluded location once we arrived and were warmly welcomed. The views are stunning and the accommodation was comfortable. Staff were friendly & so helpful. Would definitely recommend!!

Upon check-in, we had many issues in the hotel with cleanliness and hygiene. The manager and staff are polite and they have compensated by moving us to another room. Room 2/5 Service 2/5 Cleanliness and hygiene 1/5 food 3/5 I would not stay back but do appreciate staff efforts

The team Headed by Thilanka and his efforts to make us feel comfortable made the difference for our stay. Hansaka at the restaurant and Mithri at security definitely deserved a very good compliment for their service. Hotel was clean room service was good. Thank you Rivendell

Hotel needs renovation, don't think many people stay, only 2 other rooms taken when we visited which meant no buffet eve or breakfast. Service - staff tried but weren't very experienced and ended up a bit faulty towers.

Great stay, with nice accommodations! A very friendly group fo staff, with nice breakfast and dinner! Rooms were very comfortable and spacious for family with children. Would definitely recommend when visiting Sri Lanka.

Good hotel ,good staff I advise to stay in rivendel hotel Room is big and clean. The food is very delicius. Swiming pool located at the roof garden and have nice view of jungle. Staff is very good person

I had a wonderful experience staying at the Rivendell during my most recent holiday. My room was spacious, spotless, and had a very comfortable double bed. The highlight of my stay was the staff. They were always very kind and attuned to my needs. After several excusions, I decided to relax and spend an entire day at the Rivendell. Midway through the day, I got a knock at my door, and when I opened the door, to my suprise, one of the staff members brought me a fresh king conconut! This is just one of a number of ways the staff went above and beyond(see the attached photo of the fruit plate they gave me on my last day!). The hotel is also cleverly designed with the restaraunt on the top floor where it gives diners spectacular views of sunrise and sunset over the mountains. The hotel also has a great roofdeck and a pool to catch some sun and cool mountain breezes.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rivendell over the holidays! We arrived in the middle of the night and they kindly provided a fruit plate so we could sleep in past the normal breakfast hours. And breakfast when we made it to the top floor dining room was excellent every day - some days were Sri Lankan, other days Indian (or a combo of both) and some we opted for simple toast and eggs. The staff were a highlight, very friendly and happy to help when needed. My other favorites were the rooftop with views of fruit bats flying overhead after sunset (we don’t get that in California!) and the large doors that fully opened onto the balcony in our room - perfect for soaking in the tropical scene. It was an easy tuk tuk into the city center and would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Kandy!
